Haven't had chicken from Popeyes in a very long time, probably over 10 years. We stopped here to pick up lunch for the... day. Quality of the food was excellent. We went early around 11 because I was told it was the best time to get fresh friedchicken and that proved to be correct. You could tell it wasn't sitting in the hot case for too long or even ever. When wearrived to my nieces house it was still hot. The skin was nice and crisp golden color. It taste so good too! No complaints andone if best chicken I have had in long time. Service was great too. Didn't have to wait long at all, so that is always a plus.I was impressed. We went through drive thru so was very quick. Value of food. I thought was good price for 11pc was around $16.We got all thighs and there wasn't an extra charge for it. I would recommend this location for fried chicken. The chicken wars are here and Popeyes has won. I love a good crispy chicken strip and decided to research who was supposed to be... the best and try my own taste buds against it. I have to both agree and disagree. The articles I read said that Popeyes won, butonly if you like spicy food. Because of dietary issues I can't have the slightest hint of spice ???? but their plain crispychicken sandwich and chicken strips are absolutely the best I've ever had - no dipping sauce needed. Goodness galore! We'd just finished a week of camping on the beach and we were hungry. The teen girls wanted to try Popeyes, so... I read a few reviews and they were raving about this location, so we tried it! Yum and double yum! Biscuits are heavenly. Chicken tenders crunchy and fabulous. Potatoes and gravy tasty. Fries were great. Mac and cheese gobbled up quickly! Fantasticfor our 1st time at a Popeyes. This place set the bar really high! ???????????? P.S. I am not normally familiar with this location and was unaware they did not have a drive thru so I had my puppy AND my 2yr old... with me;) I was taking lunch to my husband and he LOVES Popeyes ) I cannot find my receipt but the young man whim took my orderwas just the nicest courteous young man ever! He offered a larger bag that had handles and offered me assistance???????????????????????????? The restaurant was so clean and the food was very fresh and always delicious. Somehow, this location has one of the best Popeyes I've ever visited. The locations that I've been to in Washington have had... fairly inconsistent service that skews more heavily toward unprofessional and rude than nice and quick. However, this Popeyesand north MLK Boulevard has only provided me with kind employees and fast service! The food is what you'd expect from Popeyeswhich can be hit-or-miss and I know that their fried chicken may not be everyone's favorite. My only complaint about thisparticular Popeyes is the sketchy drive through area that can sometimes block the main road, but that isn't the fault of therestaurant. Read more
