Reviews for Philadelphia's Steaks & Hoagies in Portland, OR
Called in and ordered two Phillys totaling to $37, almost $40 for two moist hunks of bread and meat! Apparently it?s about $4... cheaper to order online directly, yet the person on the phone when I called made no mention of this and just proceeded to takethe order like normal. I?ve never physically been to the location so what good does it do me if you tell me ?there?s a signposted on the door.? Like wow what a misleading and manipulative way to make extra money, great place to spend your hard earnedmoney NOT. Avoid this place. No sandwich is worth $18- $19 regardless of the size. Read more
I've tried bothe the Italian special and the ham and cheese. They were both good. The only problem I have is they are a little... expensive. They don't have options for under $10 and that's for just the sandwich. Read more
Messed up my order 2x in a row. I ordered one of their hoagies with a couple toppings removed. The first time, I got a... cheesesteak instead. The second time, they included the toppings I had asked for the sandwich without, even though wespecifically confirmed that it should be without them. The hoagie I eventually got was mediocre, and the service here has neverbeen friendly. They're very "meh" about the customers, like they don't care if you stay or take your business elsewhere. Great steak and cheese on fresh white hoagie rolls. We get extra meat because there?s a lot of bread to meat ratio on the... regular. We get mix of provolone and Swiss. Lots of beer on tap to chose from. Quick service. Have learned to call ahead becausesometimes they close couple hours early - maybe they run out of bread or staff?? (We drive over from Beaverton and they will beclosed at 7 already so that?s a bummer). But we still love them! Read more
Solidly middling. I was jonesing for an authentic Philly cheesesteak, so we tried this place. The rolls are good, and the meat... is on point. All good there. The peppers aren?t quite right though. They?re green bell and jalapeño peppers that are pickled. They?re ok, but lacking the sweet, spicy red cherry/peppadew peppers that make a cheesesteak perfect. The search continues? Read more
I grew up in this neighborhood and have been coming here off and on since it opened. Ordered there today by phone because their... website was down. Went to pick it up and I was floored by the price of $16.95 for a mushroom cheese steak sandwich...Unbelievably expensive. It's a delicious sandwich but not even close to worth it at that price. Guess it explains why they arealways so empty... Read more
Love the soft hoagie rolls. Go-to sandwich is the Italian combo, piled high with meats, cheeses, and veg.
Huge scam of a restaurant. Insane to charge $18 for a sandwich when online it says $13. And to have a weird system that if you... order online you get the cheap price but they don?t tell you that of course! Nowhere even good enough to charge that much too. They should be embarrassed. Read more
