My family enjoy trying different ramen places whenever we get the opportunity to. The chashu recipe is different from most of... the other ramen places we have been to around Portland. And I absolutely love this one @menjiro! The chashu ramen is reallygood. Service is top notch as sharing bowls were brought to my table for our 3 year old without us even mentioning it. Read more

an adorable little family owned restaurant right in the waterfront hidden behind a dennys and floor hardware store. small and... quaint, seating less than 15 people in store, you look right over the river into portland. i went with my brother and dad. i gota bowl of ramen and they both got a rice bowl while we all shared a tuna appetizer. the food is delicious and we all finishedthe appetizer within 5 minutes of receiving it. the lady was the sweetest person and kindly explained to us how to order aswell. i would love to come here again when i get the chance Read more

Amazing service and wonderful food. Small selection of alcohols, but their Rose wine is phenomenal. Had the Kobe Beef ramen,... splendid flavors; the food tastes homemade! Very cozy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Read more

A small seaside Japanese ramen restaurant with outdoor dining area. The soup ramen tastes ok but not comparable to most similar... restaurants in San Francisco Bay area. The noodle texture is similar to soup noodle packages bought in Japanese grocery stores. The soup doesn?t taste like it?s prepared in house. The bbq pork is too lean so it?s not rich enough. The service staff, basically one person who is the cashier also serves and cooks, is nice. Read more

I lived in Japan a long time and I?ll tell you most Japanese restaurants in the states are not an authentic experience, they... might be good, but they don?t have that homey neighborhood feel that is the backbone of Japanese cuisine. First off, mostAmerican Japanese restaurants are expensive and seem to be striving for some trendy zen concept. Menjiro felt like I was backin the Kobe neighborhood, getting a bowl of Ramen on the way to the train station. Unpretentious, friendly, reasonablypriced. That?s pretty straight forward, isn?t it? Honest good food in a welcoming environment. It?s tiny and the prime table hasa wonderful view of the boat docks, with plenty of room for outdoor seating. The cook/server was the perfect addition, cheerfuland friendly, exactly like so many Ramen shops in Japan. To be honest, I have had better Ramen, but I haven?t had moreauthentic ramen. It?s not the place for your wedding party or a corporate merger. It?s a place you eat at regularly? withfriends, or by yourself. You don?t have to dress up, or put your makeup on, you just have to relax and imagine you?re in alittle harbor town in Japan and you?re dropping into your little neighborhood joint. And that, is amazing. Read more

Quick service and delicious food! I ordered the vegan ramen (an abundance of chewy noodles and assorted veggies plus tasty... ginger with a container of creamy, carroty veggie broth with tofu) and vegetable pot stickers (served with a salty, spicysauce). The patio has several tables that seat 2-4 each. If you want replenishing food, this was great. Read more
