This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant in #Pdx! The rice is as close as I can get toy Mother's rice, she's been passed over 12... years. At Mazatlan on Burnside - it's like a vacation. They have Karaoke on the weekends also - which I too, also love. Thefood is quality, substantial and huge portions. I love their Fajitas - but today I got the combo #4 plate for lunch, and aPacific on Draft. Luis - amazing people person. So wonderful and nice. He took my work stress away with his wonderfulhospitality. You will really enjoy this Mexican Restaurant. When I was a kid - this was a swanky joint called, 'Bill's GoldCoin'. I love Mazatlan, I've been going there for years after timbers matches. Carlos is amazing. Last night I was accosted by my... server to pay for people I was sitting with that didn't pay. He handed me a $200 tab and was holding my credit card ransomunless I paid for it. I had two beers, which of course he knew, as he was splitting tabs all night. Why I was being bullied intopaying people's tabs I don't know, I'm not sure. I checked with MY friends and they all paid. They, in fact, let me know thatthey had asked for their tab for half an hour and didn't get it, and those that didn't pay probably left after waiting foreverto pay. That makes perfect sense after my experience with him. He should be fired. Carlos was there and will remember thesituation. I won't be returning. Update: I called and, as usual, Mazatlan folks are the best. Totally apologetic and doingtheir best to track down where the server put my card obviously, this one server is a complete outlier.
