Service was very good. I just wanted to make this clear. But the food for the first time was not very delicious. Like I?m used... to when I go here. Nachos chorizo was over salty. And the tortilla soup was lukewarm. I would never ask a restaurant ofreheating an item in fear of additional ingredients added to it. Read more

Matador is a good time, great happy hour. Westside location has a slight edge though. Good food and ambiance.

Ever since The Original Taco House closed, we have been looking for another great Mexican restaurant. Ok, to be fair, we moved... out of state for a few years, but we are back and looking. Found it! This place is really good. Sorry about no pictures, I wastoo busy inhaling the chips and salsa! Salsa and some of the food needed a little salt, but they provided us with S & P, so noproblem. Happy hour was fantastic with excellent choices! Indoor and outdoor seating make this place a must visit! Enjoy!! Read more

Really enjoyed this place! The food was good. Wish the portion was a little bit larger, but still walked away full. If... tequila is your poison, then this place is for you! The service was superb! Kuali'i, our server took really good care if us. Very attentive but not overly. Super helpful & friendly and always had a great happy smile! Couldn't have asked for more! This place is really popular, packed all night for a Thursday night. Read more

Fun, loud music, lots of energy! My brothers and I arrived around 9:30 at night on a weekend night. It took a minute to get our... orders ordered but the chips and salsa made up for it. The salsa is absolutely delicious with cilantro has a very addictingtaste. I ordered the flutas.... Amazingly big and super delicious. The waitress was attentive and very nice she advised that thekitchen was a little bit behind but like I said everything was worth the wait. I didn't order any drinks but they look verytasty judging the table next to mine. Bill was about average for the environment and type of place it was not overly priced butnot cheap either. Read more

Edit: stupidly didn't check the bill before handing credit card. Got charged for sour cream we never ordered. $2.50.....Too... annoyed to stick around and get it fixed. Pros: chicken was good, brussel sprouts are suprb, drinks are very tasty, price ispretty fair and atmosphere is defiently fun. Con: service was very eh and it took FOREVER to get our food. Legit 45 minutes. Also the curtains blocking the door are stupid and causes people to run into others. Saturday night, get sit down relativelyquick but it was 10 minutes before our server showed. Ordered food and drinks all at once. Food shows up after 45 minutes (which when we asked about where is our food he says they are backed up 30 to 45 mins). Because of the chips and drinks weren'tvery hungry to enjoy the meal which tastes pretty good. The brussel sprouts then came out another 10 mins after which werecomped. Then trying to leave it was another 12 mins before our server came for the check after he had taking our food. Never gotany water refills during the meal. Won't return. Would give 2.5 stars of I could for drinks, atmosphere, and food taste. Alsothe rice could def be improved. Read more

Was craving a Margarita and some Mexican food for lunch today so I decided to hit up The Matador. It?s the first time I?ve come... in for lunch and I was happily surprised. It wasn?t super busy so we just found a seat up at the bar. The drinks came out fast. The chips and salsa hit the spot and my meal was outstanding. Read more

The music was a change from the typical traditional Mariachi. Decor was dark and simplistic with large glass window panels that... slide open in the cocktail section. Outdoor seating was tight but comfortable. Happy Hour menu has ample food choices. Chips andsalsa were free and heavy on the garlic. We shared a Quesadilla garnished with guacamole and their signature crema. My partnerchose Shrimp & Lime slathered in the aforementioned signature crema and a side of rice. I went with my favorite meal RoastedChili Relleno paired with a topping of corn, tomatoes and thin tortillas chips served atop of, you guessed it, a layer of theirsignature crema, which was also beneath two huge Pablano Green Chili's. Black beans flanked the peppers filling the plattergenerously. My taste buds having been assaulted by the garlic in the salsa, honestly tasted no flavor in everything I ateafterwards except for the brewed, unsweetened iced tea with lemon ???? Service was very pleasant. Prices were midrange andmatched up with most Portland dinner menus. I did expect Relleno to be a traditional stuffed chili and batter fried. I wasdisappointed that it wasn't. I might also add, when it comes down to Black Beans, I much prefer Cuban style as these on myplate were lacking flavor and served up al dente (ultra boring). I won't be in any rush to dine there again in the near future, but I might consider it five or six years from now if they are still open. Read more
