Surprisingly disappointed in the food quality. I ordered a blackened steak, gator bite appetizers, and my partner ordered a... pasta dish. The steak was so tough I could barely eat it so I didn't, overdone, with zero flavor. The gator bite appetizerstasted like they were marinated in a bad spaghetti sauce. I was surprised because there are so many great reviews here, so maybeit was a bad night? I cannot recommend, nor would I ever go back. Calling the restaurant a Cajun restaurant is a misnomer. They offer a few Cajun/Creole dishes which have been heavily modified... to accommodate Northern tastes. That being said, the food is overall quite good. Their mac and cheese is legendary, withseveral delicious varieties. The cornbread used to be spectacular, but they changed to spongy little cornbread muffins a fewyears back, which is a continuing disappointment. Service is reliably good. The food is amazing! The wait varies a lot depending on the time. We have walked in before and were seated immediately, but... we've also waited over an hour before. The service is great if you're face to face with the server. Waiting for a server todiscover a new table has been sat takes FOREVER! Also, if you're one of those folks who likes to see and speak with your serveroften... you're in the wrong place. Read more
Love the place. The menu is good. I like the quality of the jambalaya and gumbo. The alligator bites make for a nice appetizer.... Good place for a night out or date night. It's unusual with us candle light atmosphere and white table clothes at reasonableprices. Read more
Excellent food but got 3 stars this time (I've been here many times) because of the staff. Wasn't terrible but definitely... lacking. She only came by to take our order including drinks, brought our drinks and then our check. Someone else brought ourfood out to us. Granted I know she had a table of 6 next to us but is it too much to ask for at least a refill on the $3 soda? Read more
