Reviews for Lazy Susan in Portland, OR
I'm not going to lie, when Lazy Susan first opened I was not impressed at all with the offerings and wouldn't recommend it. The... quality was good but there was very little on the menu that interested me. I didn't go back for almost two years, but now I canhonestly say the food and drink menus have a variety of interesting and delicious offerings. On top of that, the staff is superfriendly, efficient and professional. I don't hesitate now to recommend Lazy Susan as an excellent neighborhood dining option. Read more
Starting off with the positives: -Great location with a overall nice layout and ambiance of the restaurant. -Great looking... cocktails and wine selection. -Reservation system was easy to make. -Place overall seemed clean -Open Kitchen Now the negativesof my experience- Wait time. I understand the style of cook allows for some time, and that’s fine by me however we were quotedby our waitress of a 30min wait which turned into an hour. Which lead to another issue, this is a small location….only a fewtables were sat and yet during our entire wait not once did the waitress check in on us or give us a time update. Once we gotthe food, she started checking in again. It felt as if she had a script and that’s all she followed. I wish the food was wellrepresented by the wait time but quite frankly my partner’s salmon was fairly dry that along with the bread and the broccoliside dish tasted very heavy on the lemon citrus (which is saying something because I love lemon). My steak was the highlight ofthe meal but sadly it was still not anywhere near what I’d expect for the price. It came out of the kitchen precut, which isfine but the cut seemed like they used a pizza cutter and I still had to use my knife to separate several of the slices. Inaddition, everything seemed warm, not hot. Additional note on the bread, it was $7 for two slices and fancy lemon butter. Quitefrankly, if it takes 1hr to get food during a non-busy period, they may want to consider making it complementary. It saddens meto say that Susan wasn’t the only lazy person at this restaurant. For $50-$70 a person, you can do far better in Portland. Read more
Their brunch? Amazing. Service was great. Cocktails were fantastic. The bacon will ruin you for all regular bacon. I wish I was... joking. It’s like a steak, but make it bacon. This place is not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. This will be my default“special treat” whenever I have something to celebrate. Read more
If there IS some sort of spiritual paradise on the other side of all this, and if that place had a restaurant, it would probably... look a lot like Lazy Susan. Everything about this lovely little brunch spot is executed perfectly. Somehow simultaneously modernyet classic, cozy yet airy and open, minimal but oh so satisfying. It is all so effortlessly kept in beautiful balance that onecan’t help but lean back and just relax. Enjoy the experience. If you don’t, you did it wrong. I had the burger. Again, anabsolute classic. Like the burger that all other burgers everywhere esteem to be. Served with crispy, addictive hash brownpatties that are worth the price of admission alone. My partner had an exceptional vegetable hash. I loved that there werethumbnail sized slivers of gently sautéed garlic mixed in with all the super seasonal veggies. The Bloody Mary is a must ifyou’re doing that. If the coffee were served anywhere else in the same way (bottomless, vintage mug) I would have expectedsomething more like coffee-flavored water. But this stuff was strong and potent, and just like the rest of our experience -perfect. Read more
It was the night of the full moon. She looked at me in my eyes and said I want to take you to dinner. We ended up finding this... place because the observatory was packed. She bought me possibly the best chicken fried pork chop I have ever had my entire lifeshe herself got a steak. The wine coupled with the beer that I had made the slightly hefty price tag worth every penny. Thismight be one of the most romantic and best sounding, the playlist was absolutely amazing, places I have ever had dinner with mygirlfriend before. Sometimes we find heavenly places to eat just by chance, I'm glad we found Lazy Susan. Read more
A hidden gem on Stark! Beautifully crafted plates of yumminess with and perfectly curated selections of beverages. We tried... almost everything and really it is hard to choose a favorite. The alcoholic slushees were refreshing and unique. Appetizers:The white fish spread appetizer with fried saltines were simple, yet kind of mind blowing. The cold relish tray was unique localveggies with a soft boiled egg or dip. It was refreshing! Entrees: We ordered burgers for our smallest kiddos that were cookedperfectly (just a bit of pink in the middle). Our older kiddos ordered the Lox plate and the Paprika Sausage. The lox platefeatured a fresh baked bialy and the nicest lox cut the perfect thickness. The Paprika Sausage plate might have been the bestsurprise of all the dishes. It was absolutely yummy and came with a crispy fried egg, sauce, and hearty slice of toasted breadfor sopping up the delicious sauce. Hubby had the sampler side plate that included an epic beef fat fried hash brown, gorgeousthick slab of bacon and crispy fried egg. I went with the Veggie Hash that came with perfectly cooked potatoes and localveggies and a perfectly cooked soft egg. I topped it with their house fermented hot sauce……. Scrumptious!! Dessert: Wetried them all. The favorite across the entire family had to be the potato donut with butterscotch glaze. I would venture tosay it might be the best donut I’ve ever eaten. Basically, get your butt to Lazy Susan for a delicious food experience!! Read more
From the start of brunch to the end, it was all a pleasant experience. The iced tea was perfect. ( Harder to get right than you... might think) I enjoyed the spring hash. Every bite was fresh and full of flavor. Delicious food is great but, how was theservice you ask? Our server was attentive and friendly! Over all just perfect! Read more
This is probably one of my favorite restaurants right now! I’ve been for brunch twice & dinner twice and it’s sooo good! I... love that the portions aren’t huge. You leave there full but not overly stuffed. The squash they have right now at dinner timeis amazing. So is the pork secreto. The French toast never disappoints! I could go on & on. Also I think his name is Jesse whobartends at night is super nice. Overall 10/10! Read more
