Such a great restaurant, esp for a special occasion! Perfectly cooked and seasoned steak, every time, and always paired with... interesting flavors and textures. This is not your basic steakhouse. Excellent cocktails and wine selection. Great, helpfulservice. Highly recommend! Read more

Everything about the dinner at laurelhurst market was exceptional. The service was amazing! Everything came out perfectly cooked... and it was perfectly timed. We had the mushrooms and the cornbread for appetizers. My spouse had the new York while I opted forthe wagyu flank steak. I would gladly have all of those dishes again. Please go here! Read more

It had been a long time since I had visited and I was surprised to see a large, nice patio. They used to only have outside... seating along the wall so we had asked for indoor seating for our reservation, but when we arrived, we found a nice patio andasked to be changed to that table. The butcher's steaks were fresh, the meat was tender and very tasty, so we really hadn'tbeen here in 5 years after covid-19 settled down. We had the beef tartare, mac and cheese, grilled zucchini, and Brandt RanchRibeye. The servers were attentive and courteous, the patio had a high ceiling, and the atmosphere was very nice. Seating isso popular that the restaurant fills up quickly both inside and out, so reservations are recommended when visiting. Read more

This place is amazing. Great place to celebrate. The coffee rubbed steak is the best steak I ever had. Mac and cheese is... amazing. Duck was also soooo good! Highly recommend. Probably the best restaurant I’ve been to in the country. Read more

Fun atmosphere, plenty of covered outdoor seating. Indoor seating area is nice, has a bar with seating too. Would choose... outside seating next time. There is a tiny specialized meat market attached to the restaurant that I've heard has delicious highquality meats, but it closed right as we got there. The burrata salad was fabulous with incredibly freshly pulled burrata andjust the right amount of grapefruit and blood orange citrus. I was excited about the mac and cheese, but was a bitdisappointed. It was a little on the bland side, the grilled onions didn't add much flavor either. I wouldn't order thatagain. I would order the deviled eggs next time, they looked very popular and delicious on the tables around us. The grilledcornbread was a bit conflicting for me, it was more of a savory cornbread, with a sweet garlic molasses and butter. Thoseflavors just didn't flow with my taste buds, but I could see how others enjoy it. Last but not least, our steak was absolutelyincredible. They know their meats. High quality, tender to the slice, and cooked perfectly, with enough accompaniment to addsome different flavors, but not too much that it took away from the steak. We will definitely be back, to eat and to shop forsteaks. Read more

I went here today to pick up some steaks. They are the only high end butcher I know of in the area. Got there at 10 right when... they opened and the staff was cheery and welcoming. The gentleman behind the butcher counter was working and asked if I neededhelp. I told him I was looking for steaks. He was very helpful and told me they have more in the back that he hasn’t finishedprepping but if it’s something I want then he would be glad to do it. I opted for 3 of their dry aged bone in NY strips. Thebutcher said they dry age them minimum 21 days. I liked that they were cut thick like they should be (about an inchthick). They were about $31 a pound and paying was easy. Took them home to grill. Everyone likes their steaks a different wayand that is all fine. For purposes of the review I’ll say what I did. Let them sit at room temperature for about 1.5 hours.Heated my gas grill to as hot as it’ll go which is about 700 degrees. I put sea salt and black pepper on the steaks then didthem for 4 minutes on the first side and about 2-3 on the second side. Took them off and put a little room temperature butter inthem, tented it, and let them sleep for about 15 minutes. My house smelled like magic. It was hard to wait. Once I was finallyable to eat them holy cow (pun intended, no bull). They were some of, if not the best, steaks I’ve ever made. I would say thatthey were better than any I’ve had at a restaurant too such as Ruth’s Chris’, Morton’s, or Double Eagle. They were onpar with Peter Luger in Brooklyn. Highly recommend this place as a butcher shop!!! Read more

The absolute best steak place! Everything on the plate perfectly complimented the steak! The cornbread was so delicious. Their... Ribeye was the best I’ve had in Portland. Forget Ruth Chris or Morton’s, this is the place to go. Read more
