Best arepa I?ve ever had in my life. Crisp, hot, every element seasoned to perfection, generous avocado and reasonably priced.... The sauces are equally delicious?try the milk-based one! The rice and black beans were perfect as well. Love it when a placeisn?t afraid to season well. Really glad a friend recommended this place. I will happily drive the 12 miles for my next arepafix. So glad this place opened in The Zed. We've tried multiple items and it's all been delicious. Arepas and Empanadas had great... flavor and texture. Try the Teque Tots! Read more

Tried La Arepa recently at The Zed. I recommend everything on the menu, but the Pabellon Arepa. It has everything you would want... in a dish, fresh avocado, fried plantains, cheese, stewed beans, delicious choice of meat and the masa it self is high qualityand very tasty. A must have. Read more

Best arepas in town! Truly delicious and crispy, I usually go with the chicken and add some hot sauce, which is truly hot. The... fried plantain is a great addition on the side. The location off of Halsey in NE is a great spot to chill and grab a beer. ThePowell location has a great lot with other great food! Read more

Terrible food. I went to Portland Mercado to have some lunch at my favorite place Que Bacano but since it was closed I decided... to give La Arepa a chance. I ordered 1 empanada that took forever to be served. It was gross and greasy with very little carneat all! My mother in-law also ordered a plain arepa which one was uncooked. We ended throwing the ?food? in the garbage can. Ihave to add that the service was really bad as well. The server had a bad attitude. Read more

Delicious! The empanadas and arepas are made with corn. Try the shredded beef empanada, you won't be disappointed. The flavor is... delicious. I got take out by delivery so I can't speak to the precautions or safety but based on others reviews I feelconfident this is a safe dining spot for the sensitive (aside from apparently one item on the menu having gluten but I don'tknow that it goes in the fryer).
