I come here every now and then as we live close. The service is always good, they are very helpful and attentive. The food is... fine. They have an extensive menu to choose from. I had their pakora yesterday for the first time. It was unexpectedly good, freshly fried, not greasy, they were fresh and crispy. I had shrimp saag and it was good. Not too spicy shrimp was cookedperfectly. I highly recommend Swagat if you are looking for an Indian restaurant. Read more

Food and service were amazing here. I had the mixed grilled platter which came with shrimp, tandoori chicken, beef steak and... some veggies. Savory and delicious. We also tried the tikka masala and really enjoyed everything. The aesthetics were beautifuland we will definitely be returning soon. Read more

We order masala dosa and Malai kofta thali. Dosa was too oily and kofta has too much color added. Taste - ???? not... happy Ambiance ???? is good Price ???? over priced ( we asked to replace nan with wheat roti as both were for $3 but in finalbill charged extra $2 for wheat roti so we paid $5 for wheat roti) Quantity ???? dosa was comparatively smaller in size thanstandard dosa size Hygiene ???? stinky and service was slow. Visiting from Canada and I decided to visit this place for some East Indian food. Walked in and asked for a table for 1, was... asked if I mind sitting at bar. When I said that I did, the server seem to be mad bout it. He then sat me in the corner. Iordered the eggplant pakora. It was just deep-fried eggplant with a batter over it. Very very disappointing. Ordered the dhalcurry Thali and all I got was dhal curry and rice. Had to basically beg for some more hot sauce. There were only 3 servers whowere also working the bar as well...on a busy Saturday evening. Very very disappointing. Read more

First time experiencing Swagat Indian Cuisine. I was very impressed. For an appetizer, I tried the Chili Chicken... incredible... taste and spices. For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Makhani... so flavorful and delicious. You have the option to orderyour dinner a la carte, which includes only rice. Or, make it "thali"... for an additional $5, they'll include rice, naan bread, vegetable curry of the day, dal, soup, and dessert of the day. I ordered it thali style, I'm glad I did. It felt like a feast,I'll have leftovers to eat tomorrow for lunch. I look forward to coming back. I came back a few weeks later and it was evenbetter. Read more

Okay, first of all, our waiter was AMAZING!!! And made our experience so much fun. Not only was the service special, this was... some of the best Indian food my boyfriend and I have had. Get the thali plate if you?re hungry - it is so much food and all veryhigh quality and well-spiced. We got the chicken tikka and lamb curry and will definitely be back probably on a weekly basis. This is a must-do in Portland! Read more

Amazing. Stop scrolling and start heading to this place. The chicken tikka is a delicious classic. Get the full dinner option if... you're indecisive or like to try different flavors. You could go ala carte, but you'll be full either way. Get the garlic naanbread, you won't regret it. Don't forget about the delicious cocktails, like the Ginger Drop. Great food, great staff, greatlocation. Read more

Classy ambience and service! Food portions are adequate and they are amazing. Thalis are brilliant and authentic. Bread options... are aplenty. Must try place for Indian food! Read more
