Reviews for Han Oak (Meju Restaurant LLC) in Portland, OR
Wow, this place changed my view on hotpot with its quality, and execution. I often eat hotpot at home or at restaurants but this... place has opened my eyes of how to enjoy every part of hotpot rather than just the meats. Don't get me wrong, the meat is good, but the broth is just *chef's kiss*. As you cook more stuff in that broth, it only gets tastier and tastier. We choose to eatthe noodles near the end and that broth made the noodles like something you find in a really good Chinese beef Noodle shop.Noodles that are chewy and with a bite infused in a savory beefy broth. Also for the price, it was amazing (maybe this iscoming from someone that's from the bay area that pays $45/pp for a nice hotpot place). Definitely recommend Read more
The Hot Pot meal was good, but very expensive relative to other hot pot options in the area. This would have been more... acceptable if it was a creative or interesting take on hot pot, but it was not. Outside the nice selection of meats, everythingwas very average. They tried to talk up their dumplings but those were probably the worst item. They are still living on theirpre-COVID hype. Read more

Amazing food, great service and a inventive menu. The drinks were also excellent. The space is also very fun and relaxing.
Menu changes often. Beautiful ambiance. Service is super fun. Just go!
Because our first trip to Hunt oak since 2018, and while it has an entirely new and updated menu I have to say it is still... serving some of the most incredible food in Portland. It is one of those rare places where there's so much care and effort putinto the menu in the entirety of the experience that it leaves you wishing for more Read more
Food is tasty, but is overpriced and lack of originality. I went there twice, before and after the pandemic. The first time I... got a dish of Dan Dan noodles, it was a very small portion comparing to an average Asian restaurant. I mean, it tasted like DanDan noddles, but nothing more. Second time me and my friends went for the tasting menu. I was a bit upset when I found out thetasting menu was hotpot, or nabe, depends how you call it. It was tasty, the meat was good quality, but there were nointeresting bits in the execution. It was just straight up hotpot. I think we were too silly to pay $225 for this much food atthe moment. The waitress said if I didn’t feel it was enough food I can ask for a refill, so I went for it. Yes I was lookingfor a differentiator from Hai Di Lao (a major Chinese hotpot chain). I guess if you haven’t had hotpot before it could be agood experience. But I was expecting more interesting takes on traditional Asian food at Han Oak. That’s the image it istrying to sell, isn’t it? Hot pot was on the menu. Small but good wine selection. It was an interesting experience to find the right combination of burner... temperature and then choose which food to cook in the pot. Honestly, for me it was a bit of a messy ordeal overall. The servicewas good and attentive. But plan ahead, parking is non-existent. Read more
