Unusual review. Around 9pm, my friend and I (from out of town) got kind of lost. We had been trying to find other friends at... another restaurant and failing rather miserably. Both our phones were dead. Out of random desperation we ducked into Habibiwhere we met Leo the owner. He took us in, plugged in our phones. He was closed, but he made us each a delicious hummus andfalafel sandwich. Seriously, it was so amazing and we were pretty damn hungry! We came here because we were still hungry after grabbing a small bite. I actually came here before because I was not... disappointed with my last visit. The food was very filling and delicious. The lot of us were hungry and ordered The Meat Combo.I also ordered a side of garlic sauce on the side because I love extra garlic. As a result, expectations were met, we all lefthappy, full and very satisfied. I would definitely recommend coming here for the food. The environment felt like they are goingthrough a renovation so expect dining in to be tight and not very comfy. Read more

Lunch was so delicious and the owner was super friendly and made us feel at home. We?ve lived in Portland for decades and just... discovered this gem, but we think habibi tops our list of the best middle eastern food in the area! We ordered a meat mezzaplate and lentil soup, which was enough for two to share &at a great price. Can?t recommend enough, we can?t wait to go back! Read more
This was some of the best food I've had in Portland. I got the beef shawarma and my partner had the Habibi Mezza. The portion... sizes were generous and well worth the price. The food was made fresh, even the naan! The meat and rice had an amazinglyrefreshing vinegar zing that kept it feeling light instead of heavy, and though I ate entirely too much food I scarcely feltweighed down. The hummus was velvety smooth and my partner did not let any go to waste. The one drawback is that the bathroom isnot wheelchair friendly, but that's not as big an issue as it could be- the restaurant is cozy and the food is well worth it. Read more
