Reviews for Grassa in Portland, OR
The food here is 5 star. Some of the best pasta I?ve had in the nation (shout out to the kitchen). We showed up to Portland a... bit later than planned and Grassa was one of the places we had planned on eating at. Luckily for us, our hotel was around thecorner. We arrived 20-25 minutes before closing and assumed we would be okay since this was counter service. Food was amazing asmentioned before, but we were rushed out of the restaurant (lights dimmed, chairs stacked, and convos implying we were anuisance) less than 10 min after closing. I have been in the restaurant industry for over a decade in some form or the other andI get it? But dang that was a bit aggressive. If you want good food, come here earlier because it?s really amazing. Service wasiffy, but may have been an off night. Read more

Amazing handmade pastas every dish is delicious. Family got the pesto pasta, pork belly mac & cheese and carbonara. The mac &... cheese, as other people have said is absolutely amazing and is a MUST TRY. I will be getting that next time. Plates are prettyshareable since the sauce is very rich, but depends on how hungry you are. A great idea is to bring multiple people so you cantry each dish! The space has an open kitchen and you can see the pasta being made at the counter. We came at an off hour so wegot to see the pasta making for ourselves without disrupting other diners. The space is modern but space between tables can be alittle tight if you want to watch the pasta making. Additional seating is outside which is helpful. Read more
Lovely little gem serving fresh-made pasta! Since we live just above the restaurant, we enjoy coming here for lunch and dinner... occasionally. The kitchen makes every plate of pasta fresh before your eyes. So needless to say, they are delicious and ofcourse ?al-denté?. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating. You order the food and drink before seating. The restaurantcan be a bit down to earth which is why you can enjoy a 5 star dish without paying the 5 star price. ???? Will miss this placewhen we move next year. Read more
This place was our only option and open only July 4th. The pasta is really creamy and heavy. I like the garlic bread. The... meatballs were ok and a little bit too hard and salty. They squished the garlic bread on top of our pasta and the cream sauce ismessy all over the paper bag Read more
This Italian Cuisine was above and beyond Delicious!! We had called every Italian Restaurant in town & all of them were booked &... took reservations till we stumbled upon this amazing place. No reservations needed! ?? From the customer service, friendlystaff, music, dining experience to the best tasting meal. We had the butternut squash ravioli, pork-belly mac & cheese and vodka pasta. I had to try a bite if all three & they are all so good that I could not pick a favorite. This place was 5 star inevery aspect of the restaurant experience. I will always come back! Found my Italian place to be! Thanks Grassa Read more
If you want authentic pasta, then Grassa is the place to go. But I warn you now; the menu is as small as this location is. With... that said, the place is cozy, the staff is attentive, and the food is delicious. I would highly recommend taking a trip downtownjust to have the experience. This might fall into the top ten best places I have ever eaten. Read more
Fresh pasta! I like sitting up at the bar where you can sometimes watch them make the different shaped noodles. Menu changes... constantly with seasonal offerings. My favorite this time was the wild mushroom Alfredo with Oregon chanterelles and friedlemon. The lemon keeps the Alfredo light and bright and gives the dish a nice textural crunch. The Caesar salad is excellentwith anchovies, thinly sliced lemon wheels, and artisanal bread croutons. Read more
