Very good bakery. My favorites are the baguettes and ciabatta. Nice crispy yet chewy crust and a reasonably airy crumb. The... ciabatta seems to be discontinued in some stores, at least, which would be a real loss because it was the best loaf in thehouse. Read more

I wish there were more good bakeries around so grand central couldn't charge so much for their food. $10 for a ham and cheese... croissant is offensive. But everything is pretty good here so it is what it is Read more

The como bread is easily the best bread ever invented. I make the trip to get it fresh from the bakery even though my local... grocer keeps it on their shelves. I usually get a delicious ham and cheese croissant too. And a jammer. And cinnamon roll withicing. And an almond croissant. Everything is sooo good! I'm going this weekend! Read more

If you've ever bought bread inEurope, you know it's very different from what we call bread in America. Grand central is as close... as it gets in Portland. The bread is hearty and rustic, with grat flavor. The only thing I don't like is their 'grain mix' whichadds unnecessary allergens to otherwise perfectly good bread. Luckily, not all their breads use it. I especially like the Comoand Peasant breads. They slice it for you, or leave it whole at your request. Read more

Came in for sandwiches for lunch, we were told that the wait is about 25 minutes, which was accurate. While for some this might... be fine, for me this provides either an exceptionally high expectation, or just frustration. Unfortunately it was justfrustration. The turkey cranberry sandwich was flavorless, the bread was sad as it looks. The place delivered what it promised, but I won?t be back. Read more

One of my all time favorite spots to grab coffee and breakfast, so I figured it was time for a review! Originally I always went... to the one on Hawthorne across from JAM. Once I heard this one was here I started going here as it?s closest. I always get thechai tea latte with oat milk and a shot of espresso! You MUST get the quiche here, it?s literally the best I?ve ever tasted! Ialso buy their bread which can be found in local grocery stores, the Como is my fav! The staff are so friendly and companyoverall is just great, love what they do! Cheers! Read more

We ordered some pastries and a breakfast sandwich. They were just okay but i wouldnt come back to this place for them. The iced... decaf American and iced coffee we order were gross! They tasted burnt. Wouldn't recommend any drinks from this place. Read more

Grand Central means consistently good bread. I usually get a sourdough bread or baguette from them. The other day I had a... breakfast sandwich here (Blue Ribbon which has roasted beef), and it was quite yummy too. This store seems to always generate aline so you'll need a bit patience :) Read more
