I had a great experience here. The injera transported me back to Addis Ababa, lol! The gomen, shiro, and wot were spiced just... right and it's always wonderful to taste berbere at the forefront of a well done Ethiopian dish. I asked the server if they hadbuna, and was treated to a very delicious and strong cup of freshly made coffee. Konjo Buna, for sure! If you haven't hadEthiopian cuisine, this would be a great place to start. Great portions for sharing. Street parking all around the area. Read more

We love Ethiopian food and this place is hands down the best in Portland. The service from Ahadu was impeccable, the decor cute... and the food was amazing...they even had their own in-house Tej. Try mid-week if you want quicker service..they are verypopular and are sometimes packed weekend nights! (I will post photos next time...the food was so delicious we forgot to takepics! lol) Read more

I think ownership has changed though the food is still delicious. Please switch to paper to-go containers and please answer your... phone during open hours. I ordered a specific veg combo but wasn't given what I ordered. It was busy with only one waitress. Please play music for ambiance. Older review: Delicious food, gluten free injera - all the time. Vegan options. Lighting, music, seating comfort and overall ambiance could be improved. For me best tasting Ethiopian since Dalo's Kitchen. Read more

Pretty good Ethiopian food. We got a family combo with 2 meat dishes and 5 veggies. We also started with the Sambusa, which was... delicious. They had a green chili sauce that tasted amazing. The service was a bit slow and their drink selection was limitedthough Read more

Ethiopian restaurant hospitality, when practiced by a family business, is hella sweet. The menu offers all the standards, plus... a few items that are new to a lifelong consumer of injera-based meals. PDXers are fortunate to be able to eat here! Read more

Acquired taste for sure. Very sweet server and good customer service. The food is a nice experience if you want to try new... things. It's an Ethiopian restaurant in case you are wondering. My interaction with the culture has very very successful. Thepeople are hard working and laid back. My opinion in the food is totally personal and you could have a different experience. Theplace needs some updates but definitely has a hint of ethics settings to it. The bread has a mocha brownish color and itsunderneath the food and there is an extra piece rolled on the side as you can see the in picture. You'll have to use your handto eat, but you can ask for a fork if you want. I would order the food again but not big on the bread which is a totally newexperience for me. I hope you visit and enjoy.
