Great staff and great food. I'm not a sour beer guy (which is most of their beer menu) so I only had two beers. The barrel aged... nitro, Primordial Noir, had wonderfully complex flavors with the cherries taking Center stage and the bourbon finish having analmost chocolate or coffee ending. The oatmeal stout was great and the fried chicken sandwich was the bomb. Juicy and deliciouswith just the right amount of crunch. The only knock on the sandwich would be the amount of bun, which was tasty as well. Read more

Tried a super fun custom flight of beers (did the 4oz) and ceviche. All was great and there was seating on a Saturday night... which is always a win in my book Read more

A must do for sour beer lovers. However, this is not like I remembered it from years ago when I fell in love with the place. I... have been waiting for over 4 years to make my return to Portland and visit again only to be underwhelmed by the variety ofoptions. My first visit had so many options that we sat for hours enjoying flights. This was not the same experience as theoptions are much more limited. But, I enjoyed my flight and left. Just a shame. Maybe it?s because it?s summer now and my lastvisit was winter so they had a variety of caramel apples and other winter flavors. Oh well. Read more

Delicious food!!! We sat outside in the covered area while we waited for our teenager and his friends at Holocene. The Garlic... Mac n Cheese was the best version we have ever tried anywhere, ever. Seriously amazing. The Spring Salad (seasonal greens, asparagus, strawberry, pickled beet, watermelon radish, fried quinoa, sunflower seeds, citrus vinaigrette) was full of flavor, like nothing I had ever eaten before. I also ordered the donut holes which didn't disappoint! We didn't drink since we weredriving teens around, but I can say with confidence that they know how to cook very, very well!! I find this place to be ahidden gem for food in Portland. Read more

Best sours in town, fabulous location, wonderful staff, great food. Highly recommend the Forest Gold and the Sang Noir... but... you really can't go wrong. Fiona and Wolfie are lovely, Miguel is such a cool guy, and the kitchen staff is awesome. Beyondthat, they've got trivia nights on Wednesdays, and a month Harry Potter Trivia gig every month, if that's your thing. Definitelya good time. Furthermore, the WiFi is *excellent* -- perfect place to get some work done with good company and delicioussnacks/drinks. Read more

Came here on a Harry Potter trivia night that we aren't part of so only outside seating was available. This wasn't a problem at... all since there were also heaters outside. We ordered Shepard's Pie and Pretzel and Cheese. It felt like it took at least 20min until we got our order. No big deal, we understood it was a busy night. Plus our server apologized to us twice for the foodbeing late. The food was mediocre. Shepherd's Pie was fine. Pretzel was not up to our standards. We wouldn't likely come backfor the food at least for the price. After we were done with food, we waited, what felt like another 20 min before asking forour check from another server. 10 min later, we stood up from our seats and went in to pay since our check never came out. Thereason it got 3 stars is mainly due to waiting time. Although we were understanding and still tipped, it just felt like waitingforever and the food was ok and not worth the price or coming back for. Read more

We were visiting Portland for President's Day weekend and since we heard that the beer scene is big here, Cascade was one of the... places on our list to check out. We got there at around 1:45 on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too packed, but startedgetting a bit more crowded when we left at around 2:30. We only had beer and we ordered the Pear sour (since they're known fortheir sour beers, and the Easy Rider flight, which is 4 oz each of: -Portland Ale: Blond Ale brewed with German Pilsner malt &Northern Brewer hops. 4.9% / 14 IBU -Cascade IPA: India Pale Ale brewed with Cascade and Amarillo hops. 6.2% ABV / 50IBU -Makin' Money Moves: Bourbon barrel aged imperial milk stout with lactose, pecans and vanilla. 9% ABV / 29 IBU I'm not sureif I tasted much pear in the sour. As for the flight, my favorite was probably the Portland Ale, even though I normally preferstouts. The ale was very refreshing. The other two were just okay, but I also don't really like IPAs. We realized after the factthat we could have just ordered 4 oz pours of the beers we actually wanted to try, and it would cost the same as a flight - sothere really is no benefit to ordering a flight here. If you like sour beers, this place might be for you as they do seem tohave pretty unique flavors that rotate. But if you're looking for regular beers, I'm sure you can find something better outthere. Amazing, complex sours. Great service. And the best beer slushy, unbelievably light and not too sweet. If you enjoy sours, you... can't miss this place. Highly recommend the cocoa cardamom and winter sage, but you can hardly go wrong. Read more
