Reviews for Cafe Rowan in Portland, OR
Food was really great and the service was pretty good. Very small and tight parking lot, you?ve been warned! - got lucky tho and... got a spot. Nicely done space and some outdoor seating for the nicer days is a plus. Read more
Loved Cafe Rowan, such a warm and laid back vibe! The cafe was super cute, bright, and I loved the fresh flowers on each cafe... table. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The menu, oh my gosh... we wanted to try everything! We ordered The RowanBreakfast Sandwich, Dungeness Crab Benedict, and the Dad's Classic Bloody Mary. Everything was so fresh and full of flavor, sogood!!!! We will definitely be back! Read more
This place is awesome. The food and drinks were really great and the staff were all a pleasure to speak to. The process of... getting a table and ordering can be confusing and annoying, they should just offer full service and be done with it. The kitchenseems to have a timing issue of getting plates out on the same order at the same time. This is not a fine dining experience, while the food might make you believe it is (because it?s that good), the experience has a lot to be desired. Be patient anddon?t come hangry. Get the Benedict, great Bloody Mary! Read more
I was visiting from out of state with a friend from Portland. It was both of our first time at Cafe Rowan. The check in process... was kind of confusing; there was a stand by the door that said to grab a table, but also a staff member with a waitlist fortables. The food was absolutely amazing and came out rather quickly regarding how busy it was. Every member of the staff wassuper friendly and took the time to make our interaction personable, even during the busy Sunday breakfast rush. Our drinks tooka little longer to arrive, but again I didn?t really mind because of how busy it was and how friendly the staff were. The owner,Steven, went out of his way to make sure my visit was memorable and delicious since I was visiting all the way from Utah. Ihighly recommend Cafe Rowan and the high energy/wonderful service and food; you won?t be disappointed. Read more
First and foremost this place is worth it based in the hospitality of Spencer (the owner) and his team. Everyone was very... friendland accommodating. Next, food! It was SO difficult to decide what to have. Well, expect that a lobster roll was a mustand it did not disappoint. We ordered a lobster roll, a Rowan breakfast sandwich, and an order of huckleberry French toast. Itwas all fabulous. We did leave a little hungry still but we will return to try all of the menu items we struggled to choosefrom. My ONLY complaint is that the music inside was too loud. It made carrying a conversation a tad difficult and we didoverhear others commenting on this as well. Worth the drive and the price. Read more
I did the special menu last Wednesday night and it was amazing! I was very excited about the November menu since it was... pescatarian. Everything had a great taste. The wine pairing was amazing too! I would recommend to everyone. Can?t wait to goback! Read more
This place is epic! Wild huckleberry french toast is a must when they have it on special. If not for the wild huckleberries,... definitely the coffee infused syrup that pairs perfectly with the little bits of chocolate. The Rowen sandwich is one of thebest breakfast sandwiches I have had in Portland, easily. Perfect egg, bacon is unreal, and that blueberry jam takes it toanother level. You order at the counter and sit anywhere. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It got pretty busy when theyopened but everything moves along really quick! Read more
We ordered the mushroom toast (gluten-free bread by request), some sort of bowl dish, avocado toast with GF bread, egg benedict,... and two lattes w/ almond milk. I also added some pics from the annual seafood boil! Read more
