Reviews for Baon Kainan in Portland, OR
This place is BOMB. I?ve had plenty of Filipino fusion / Fil Am food and this place really stands out. I?m not from Portland but... would go out of my way to get good Filipino food here :) Get their ube bibingka before they run out! Read more
A hidden gem indeed. The food was amazing! Their menu keeps changing, so you have to watch out. It was a Friday lunch time when... I ate. Honestly I can?t remember the name. It was a very comfortable hearty, umami chicken with gravy. It was served with rice-a very homey combination. The food was absolutely fresh and piping hot. I was very content after having the meal. I highlyrecommend the place. Read more
Really delicious filipino food cart with a Portlandy spin! I tried their veggie sisig and it was delicious. It included local... Ota tofu which made me happy. Parking was easy to find along the streets. They had gluten free and vegetarian options too. Read more
Tried their dessert last time and this was able to make it to the food cart to try some of their other items. The Breakfast... bowl (tosilog) was money! The pork belly tocino over garlic rice with a couple eggs is a simple but tasty dish. The chickenadobo was also good as the chicken was nice and tender and super flavorful. Read more
They're doing great things here. I had the arroz caldo and bibingka two months ago and am still thinking of the meal with great... fondness. The caldo is deeply comforting with lots of deftly balanced warming spices to start your day. The shrimp was alsocooked perfectly. Definitely add the Taiwanese style donut to the caldo if given the option! My partner got the chicken adoboand it was delicious as well. Read more
The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. What was originally a bummer when the food truck that I wanted to try was... closed turned into a blessing when Baon was the next available. Without hesitation Baon stepped up to the plate and hit a homerun. The Vegan rice bowl was scrumptious! Their chicken recipes sounded amazing as well. This food truck is now on my list offavorites, and it was my first time experiencing Filipino cuisine! It?s safe to say they made a great first impression on me. Gogive them a try for yourself! Experience home cook Filipino food, tasty specially the Arroz Caldo - rice porridge with generous shrimp portions. Their Tocilog... contains two eggs and pork that is cooked just right. Portion size is ok - would wish that there is some more for the pricepaid. Overall I would come back. Thank you for being open and available for the community. Read more
Tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago and I?ve gone back two more times since because it?s so dang good. Their... menu has some Filipino comfort food and also some modern twists. I?ve had the tosilog, kare kare fries (surprisingly amazing, not overly peanut-y), pancit palabok, chicken adobo, and longanisa lumpia. Probably the only thing I wouldn?t order again is theveggie sisig, it?s not for me. Also would recommend the calamansi soda?refreshing on a hot day. Read more
