Reviews for AKADI PDX in Portland, OR
Absolutely amazing food. It was my first time trying African food and I had a ?where has this been all my life? moment.... Everything was absolutely delicious. We have already been back for more. Our server the second time was so friendly and happy toexplain ingredients and help us pronounce menu items. Definitely top 3 favorite places to eat in Portland. Read more
This restaurant is absolutely lovely! My friend and I sat at the bar. The bartender was very helpful and kind. I ordered the... spinach stew at first, but it was too salty and they whisked it away and had me order something else to make it right. Thetomato stew with shrimp was amazing. Outstanding service. 5.25. Akadi redo! food was great. Enjoyed seeing some of the old staff and new faces. Exactly what I was expecting with a more... flavor. It was worth the 2.5year wait. Excited to see more from Akadi and Fatou/George. Can?t wait for more success. 5. 13 Usedto come to Akadi back when they were in NE?very often. Was excited for their reopening after like 2 yrs being closed. Came induring their opening week on Wednesday and has reservations at 7. Friend and I ordered a lot (like 3 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2to go orders). Was expecting the slow service I used to receive in their NE location, which still holds in their new location. After 2.5 hours of waiting, none of my food came. We only received 1 appetizer and 1 drink. Am still really disappointed in thatexperience that I don?t know if I want to come again to experience the same long wait time. I know the food is great, just don?twant to be disappointed again. I know they?ll work it out. If I visit again, I?ll change my review. Read more
Super yum. Great atmosphere. Good selection of authentic dishes and drinks. Service is a bit slow. Our meal took 2hrs with... appetizers and no dessert on a Friday night in May. An enjoyable time though! Read more
We were able to visit during the first week of their reopening and had a fabulous evening! They are understandably still working... out some kinks; service was slow and disorganized, but staff were trying their best to be attentive. They have an extensivemenu, but our first choice entrees were not available (means we'll just have to visit again). The space is beautiful, highceilings with lots of light. We tried a variety of things and it was ALL delicious. The standouts for us were the samosas, alloco (plantians), hibiscus lemonade, and the suya chicken wings. Prices were very fair for the portions and quality. Easy tofind close-ish street parking on a Friday night. We will absolutely be visiting again! Read more
