Prepare to be enchanted by this grand old home turned restaurant. By candlelight, we were seated in a cozy nook. Our server... described the specials, I ordered Pistachio & lemon pesto, while Mr Right chose the Bolognese Ragu. The appetizer was a softfoccacia bread with olive oil and spices to dip it in. A couple that was seated close to us requested to be moved, which thehost did. Our server, Devan was lovely & knowledgable. Our final choice was decaf cappuccinos with the Olive oil cake. I don'trecall a richer cappachino ever. The cake was served chilled with Maine blue berries. If I lived closer, I'd be here everyweek. The setting, though elegant, was still relaxed and comfortable. Here now and can’t say enough how good their food is. Best short rib Ragu I’ve ever had. Wife loved the eggplant parm and... the kids loved the buttered pasta and meatballs. Definitely will be coming back! Read more

As a visitor to the area I decided to stop by this wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere and overall experience the building and... dining room itself provide is beautiful, and a great place to just have some good food with friends or family. Both of the staffmembers I met during my visit were kind and provided great service. I ordered the chicken parm and the side of bread and all Ihave to say are good things. For one person the meal sizing was perfect, and the food came out hot and tasted delicious! Would100% recommended this place to anyone in the area. Read more
We were so pleased to see this restaurant open after recently moving here. It must have been thirty years ago since our last... visit. We dared to walk in without a reservation and the staff was very accommodating. The food was excellent, one of the bestmeals we have had around Portland since moving here. Service was wonderful. We had State Theatre tickets for 2 hrs after the reservation, which we told them when we arrived. They didn't come to take our... order until 30 minutes after we were seated. After one person took the order, another person brought half the drinks, and hadto ask the remaining people to restate their drink orders. They put the food down in front of the wrong people. They forgot tobring one appetizer, and when we mentioned it, the response was so rude that the people at the next table commented on it to us. The service was painfully slow, haphazard, and unconcerned. We had to flag them down to ask for another drink, etc. Theynever just came to check on how we were doing. We understood that they could not do separate checks for a party of 5, but theywouldn't even split the check evenly between 5 credit cards. We were 15 minutes late to the theatre. They were not busy ATALL. They should have been able to be much more attentive, quick, and friendly. Read more
