If you are looking for authentic Italian this is not it. Do not let the photos fool you. The food was cafeteria quality at best.... The ?homemade? pasta did not taste like it was homemade or even fresh. It tasted like it had been made and frozen for some daysor it was straight from a box. It certainly did not have the taste or texture you would expect from homemade pasta freshly made. The food was also bland. The pasta alfredo with chicken was awful. The chicken tasted old and the entire dish was withoutflavor. Attention Mainers? please start seasoning the food. I think they thought the alfredo sauce would flavor the blandchicken and pasta. My wife had the Cannelloni. It tasted like it came from the frozen section of the grocery store. Read more

We are an early dinner here last night and the service and food were phenomenal! My husband had the chicken puttanesca which... was incredible. The chicken was able to be cut with a fork and melted in your mouth. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli(handmade pasta) with a hazelnut sauce/butter. Wow. Such unique flavors yet so homey all at once. Definitely a "food HUG"from all this. I'd highly recommend on anyone's trip to Portland if they are wanting something besides seafood. Read more

We had such a wonderful dinner at Ribollita last night. We were able to sit outside which was great and along with some really... tasty salads we had the fish stew, and the most delicious chicken puttanesca with home made pasta. Every mouthful was flavorfuland truly a delight- there nothing ordinary about the food- it was fabulous! The restaurant has a laid back charm that allowedus to feel quite comfortable, and we left feeling so happy we had found this great little neighborhood gem. Read more

Small, intimate?reservations a must. Parking is a huge challenge like most of Portland. Iwas lucky to find a metered spot on the street across from this Restaurant. We found Ribollita when we were in Portland Maine for the weekend and craving Italian food. It's a quaint and intimate spot.... Very quiet in spite of being so busy. The service was very good and not overwhelming. The food was very good and simplyprepared, not overdone as many places seem to do today. We had a calimari appetizer that was lightly breaded with polenta andjust the right amount of oil and lemon. Very well done. Definitely give Ribollita a visit if you are in Portland Maine!! Read more
