Very good food. Brunch. Ordered a breakfast burrito and the sage/ egg scramble. Both were full of flavor. Paired with a bloody... mary- did you know their drink menu lists several bloody mary options? Very true. Must have: english muffins. Don't ask, justorder and you won't be disappointed. Sunday brunch is busy, small bar- bar seats- take that option if you can. Bartenderprovides some solid service. Eclectic seating area. A must try. Well done, Local 188. Read more

It isn't easy to find a brunch place in Portland at the peak busy time, and we stumbled upon this place on our way to another.... The wait was about 30 min and their text notification system enabled us to wander while waiting. We sat at the kitchen bar(which we found really entertaining because the cooks were very funny!) And were pleasantly surprised by a free piece of coffeecake that was given to us! The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The portions were generous and everything we orderedwas well-seasoned. I would definitely come back! Read more

Had brunch here for the first time. Service was really slow. Waited over an hour for food which is understandable for dinner but... I have a hard time being sympathetic when it comes to breakfast food as eggs take 5 minutes to cook. (I am a chef) I ordered aBloody Mary and had to ask them to strain it because it was super chunky and not in a good way. There were bits and pieces ofsomething maybe ginger or horseradish and I had to chew it in order to swallow. My boyfriend waited 15-20 minutes for a mimosa. The food was not at all what I expected. The plate was half full. I got maybe 12 pieces of tiny potatoes as a side and they wereso covered in paprika that it was the only thing I could taste. I?m sorry but do you know how much paprika you have to use inorder to taste it? It?s a very bland spice. The sausage was interesting, got a hard piece and immediately took it off mysandwich. Couldn?t force myself to finish the rest. I gave this place 2 stars because our server was nice.. that?s about it. Read more

Atmosphere was nice. Staff was friendly. Service was good. Drinks were good. We started with red pepper hummus which was very... tasty. My wife ordered Salmon which she said was good, but salty. I ordered the ribeye steak which was overloaded with salt. Idon't understand why they would ruin a good piece of meat with so much salt. I couldn't even eat the veggies/mushrooms under themeat, because they were just too salty. I would go back to give them another try, with a different meal, the next time I'm intown. Read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. First service was slow usually sat with empty drinks for average 10 mins even after... ordering them before they were ever empty. The place is very warm and chic. The food was also very good. We had several smallplates. The onion dip which was so good we put it on most everything else also had deviled eggs nothing spectacular especiallysince im from the south so ive had better. The Brussel sprouts typical but still very good. Also had the candied bacon whichwas the best one of them all. Served like an open faced blt. Entrees we got the new york strip and their mussels. Both tastyand cooked perfectly. My biggest complaint and reason ill never return is our server. I could handle the slow but because icouldnt eat but maybe three of my mussels because of all the other food she boxes them to go for me. Well i arrived home tofind that the entire container leaked all over my seat and mussel juice leaked all over my car. Ive had to get it detailed toget the smell out and i know accidents happen but when i looked at the container the lid was not the correct lid and never fitcorrectly so my waitress knowingly gave me a container that would leak and never mentioned a word. So my advice if you go andtake any leftovers home check the containers first Read more
