Reviews for Gritty McDuff's Brew Pub in Portland, ME
Great atmosphere! I usually avoid live music because I can?t have a conversation over it, but this was an exception. We could... talk over the music but ended up getting drawn in. The Tuesday musician was incredible! I would come back on a Tuesday just tohear him again. Wow!! Read more
SO good!! A hidden gem honestly. We had never been to Portland and honestly just picked a place after looking at their menu... posted on the glass of the business down a cute cobblestone street. I got the lobster tacos and I am still raving about thisdish days later. Best food all trip. Lobster, mango salsa and avocado crema. The waitress/bartender was fast and friendly. Greatplace to get drinks with the added benefits of good food. Think we spent about $80 on two dinners and drinks. Not bad forlobster! Read more
Went for dinner and sat outside. The outdoor seating was picnic tables - it was alright. Got clam chowder and wings, burger, and... chicken strips and apple sauce for the kiddo. The food was good overall although I would say the wings had too much sauce onthem. We didn?t finish everything so we packed some to go. The service was great. The bathrooms were upstairs so quite a trekfrom where we were. I would recommend the place. The strip has so many choices for food. Read more
Casual atmosphere! Great music playing, but perfect for conversations. Waitress is very friendly. Stopped in for some drinks.... Blueberry Ale and citizen cider is delish! A number of their ales / ipa's are brewed right on site. Enjoy the outdoors bysitting out on the cobblestone walk or sit indoors with the air conditioning. Great stop! Read more
The most small and overpriced lobster roll in Maine.I was really disappointed by the size? they barely fill the bread and add... lettuce in the bottom. The beer was good. We got fish and chips and the deep fried shrimp; they were okay. We had them withsweet potatoes that were really good. The waitress was excellent! We went for a Sunday lunch 2 weeks ago! Suggestion: go for thebeer. Read more
Great seaside pub and brewery in scenic Portland. Lots of tasty appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, dinners and of course... house-brewed beers. Nachos were good, loaded with chicken. Ask for extra jalapeños. Burgers were cooked right, juicy andtasty. Friendly staff and great decor. Read more
We had our first lobster roll here. We don't have anything to compare it to, but the hubs wasn't complaining. It was served on a... buttered toasted roll, and went great with both beer and cider. It has a great atmosphere, and if you go down the stairs thereis another cozy little bar. Read more
My husband and I have visited McGrittys a few times. We?ve always enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer, not so much the food. We... had the fried pickles for an appetizer and they were yum and my husband had the Philly cheesesteak that he enjoyed . I Orderedthe steak and greens salad during our last visit and I didn?t even finish half of it - it was a very sad salad. The steak had NOflavor, tough, and tasted old. the "dressing? it was tossed in also had no flavor, I could only taste the oily/cream base theyused in the dressing (maybe mayo?) whatever it was, it was gross. The only part of the salad I enjoyed was the pickled onions. Read more
