We had a delightful meal at Fore Street???? we had heard there might be a line to get a table so we arrived just before 5 PM and... were able to walk in and make a 5:30 PM reservation. We had a nice cocktail in the lounge area as we waited for a table to beprepared. the food and service were outstanding. One of the best meals we?ve ever had we had the chicken and the hanger steak. The desert was particularly I need to. Our waiter Joe was fantastic. Read more

On Halloween night we had a lovely dinner before going to a concert. We had Brussels sprouts, wine and seltzer to start. For our... entrees we had the risotto and roast chicken, both with seasonal root veggies, yum. They accommodated a gluten free diet.Pictured is the crime brûlée with cookies, and an espresso, so delicious! The waitstaff were in costume, and the food, drink, ambiance, and service was perfect. I'm a foodie and love the tastes in different cities and restaurants. Fore Street is unmatched! The cocktails, the food, the... service, the attention to detail, the atmosphere is all top notch. I sat at the bar and the bartender was perfect. I told her Ihad a cows milk allergy and any time I said I wanted a dish she politely stopped me and suggested another I ordered the beetsalad, so simple but yet the most delicious I've ever eaten. I then had the duck which was probably the best I've ever had. Sodelicious. The bartender then gave a suggestive match for wine pairing and it was perfect. Lastly, the salted caramel browniewas to die for. I can't wait to return for something new. It's not always the meal but the service and atmosphere and ForeStreet was perfect on all accounts. Bravo! Friday night reservation that did not disappoint. First time dining here, and from the moment we came through the doors,... everything was on point! Pre-dinner cocktails were perfect, service was phenomenal all night, and the food was extremely freshand cooked to perfection! Free valet parking behind the restaurant was also a plus, especially on a weekend evening. What agreat night!! Read more

When I told my coworker I was visiting Portland for the first time they told me I needed to make sure to visit Fore Street. Per... their instructions I went online the same day to make reservations and saw that they were full. The website suggests walk-insare able to be accommodated starting 5pm. Luckily we were able to be seated within two hours (for a Sunday night that?s prettygreat!). The staff was incredibly friendly, considerate of allergies, and informative of menu items. The food was amazing, unfortunately I nor the photos can do it justice. You?re better off going and seeing for yourself. Read more

Fore Street is an EXPERIENCE! It provides elevated food from land, air and sea. There is something for everyone. Their food and... dining experience was well worth the wait. I would recommend making reservations far in advance. Everything was cooked toperfection starting with bread (Standard Baking Co.) and ending with the Key Like Pie. The staff were friendly, knowledgeableand accommodating. I would highly recommend Fire Street for a date night or special occasion. Also, check their sister locationsof Scales and Street & Co.! We have loved this place on prior visits, but completely lucked out yesterday in getting a walk-in table due to a cancellation... on a blustery evening. My fiance enjoyed what she felt were the biggest, best mussels she ever had. My half-chicken had agreat smoky taste. The cornbread on a small skillet had corn on it. The chocolate cake was terrific. Fore may be NewEngland's best restaurant. Read more
