We like to stop and eat here, but today was not a good day for it. Ordered an omelet with ham, green peppers, and cheese. Was... loaded with green peppers, but no ham. Waitress never checked on us. Maybe less chatting between workers might help! Read more
Waited over 1/2 hour for our food. Gave our order to someone else. Had to ask for coffee twice. Creamer was old and curdled.... Brought wrong toast. Food mediocre. No apologies for anything. No discount in our bill. Not friendly. Read more
Had an amazing time in this small town Cafe. Unlike most cafes I have been to, the chef cooked right next to the customers.... There was laughter, stories, and great food to be shared by all. The food itself has a home cooked feel to it. I had a mediumrare steak with over easy eggs, and hash browns. It was cooked just right, with just enough spice on it. The cafe itself has adiner feel to it that most diners would strive to have. Everything in there just felt right and homey. I honestly hope to goback there one day for the experience. Read more
On a almost two month road trip takes us through historic towns and we happened to find this restaurant for breakfast . It was... good, not great. Prices are very reasonable. The cook wears gloves during food prep which is a plus. The waitress was nice ,but didn?t check on us throughout our meal. The sausage gravy and biscuits were very salty and the biscuits fell apart wheneating . My fiancé standard egg/ ham /toast / hash browns was good ( but not crisp) I watched his eggs sit in the counterawhile before the hash browns were finished being cooked. This was my first time here and I?m glad we stopped for breakfast! The cook has a good sense of humor, the waitress was very... friendly and the food was good. The price was very reasonable and the portions were large. All of their toast is texas style(thick). They also sell lunch items so I may come for lunch next time. I recommend if your ever in portage to make this a stop! Read more
Breakfast last weekend. My son had French fries and I had corned beef hash with eggs and hash browns. My son liked the fries... and the cook brought them out. They were crinkle cut and they were cooked perfectly. I love corned beef hash but I shouldn?thave ordered it. I like it very crispy and I didn?t mention it when ordering. This is the greatest little gem! My wife and I were traveling from Michigan and stopped in for breakfast based on reviews. So... glad we did!! The staff are amazing! The food was cooked to order and delish!!!!!! If we lived here. This would be our newhangout. I was legit taking pics of the sweet 1930s stools and our waitress and cook hugged. Such a sweet moment. I was warmly treated ever since my first time I ate here. The eggs benedict and tuna melts are second to none. Kelly the... waitress and Kevin and Casey are first rate cooks. I have always felt at home eating here, and made some new friends in theprocess. If you want great food, and great conversations, stop by! This place is the place to be in downtown Portage! Read more
