Reviews for Great Wall in Port St Joe, FL
I ordered take out. 10/10. Great food for a good price.
We were looking for Chinese on goggle and this place came out. When we first arrive to the place, we thought the place was... close. There was no body seating at the tables and we couldn't tell if there was anyone at the counter. One of the doors waslocked and other door needed an extra pull to open it. We placed our order and waited about 30 minutes. I thought that was fastconsidering that we ordered for 14 people. While waiting, people came in and out to pick up their orders. For my meal, I had Lomein noodles, coconut chicken, sweet and sour soup. My least favorite was the nooodles. They were over cooked and mushy for mytaste. I like them chewy and smoky. There was nine of that. The seasoning was good, otherwise wouldn't had ate them. I thoughtthe chicken coconut was good. The sauce was rich and creamy. A little bit goes a long way. Chicken was crispy with the rightratio of breading and meat. The coconut shaving added another layer of texture when combine with everything else. In myopinion, the sweet and sour soup was the best. It wasn't eggs or too spicy. Tofu pieces weren't too big or too small and theywill hold together. The ratio of ingredients and broth was perfect. The broth was so umami that it will feel like a gentle hungin your mouth. Wife had Mongolian beef with rice. According her, it was good. The beef had too many onions and a hint ofsweetness was missing on her dish. Wife and I shared crab rangoons and one steam dumplings. The dumpling was very good. Crabrangoons had more cream cheese than crab. Kids had sesame chicken with rice, lo mein, and honey chicken. Honey chicken was theless favorite for them. It didn't have much taste, it was bland. I think this could be a good option for someone that doesn'teat food with much seasoning. They really enjoyed the sesame chicken. However, they had to settle for rice since there was no lomein noodles option with that meal. For the kids that really wanted noodles and chicken, we bought lo mein Read more
I don?t like doing this, but it?s absolutely necessary?Last night for dinner we ordered over the phone and picked up our food 15... minutes later. No one was inside dining and my husband noticed they didn?t have their Health Score hung up where we could seeit. We had spring rolls (old and dry), fried rice ( old, cold, clumpy, with pink mystery meat and no vegetables) General TsoChicken (watered down sauce, small dark rubbery pieces of chicken, and was not spicy), Honey Chicken (watered down sauc and mydog wouldn?t even eat it), and Vegetable LoMein with extra broccoli( not fresh, and tasted like it had been cooked a week ago).I was starving but could only eat about 3 bites of it? that?s not including what I spit out. My husband had about 5 more bitesthan I did, and spent most of the night blowing up our bathroom. It baffles me how little pride or effort went into preparingthis food? and the Great Wall is a restaurant that specializes in Asian Cuisine. When I spend money on a fresh hot meal, itshould be exactly that. This meal wasn?t even edible. This meal was leftover from the buffet they had setup? anyways? I justcan?t believe they actually sell enough food to stay open for business. Read more
Had my fair share of Chinese, but this place right here!!! We had to wait a little longer than I would have liked for our food,... but it turned out to be worth the wait! Orange chicken and egg drop soup were particularly good, we also enjoyed egg rolls, wonton soup, beef lo mein and vegetables. Everything was phenomenal! Read more
Worst Chinese food we've ever had! The "fried rice" is basic rice and soy sauce, no veggies. The general tso sauce tastes... nothing like general tsos and the tofu wasn't cooked. The spring rolls were soggy and the fortune cookies had black inside them. Read more
I absolutely HATE leaving a bad revue.... BUT, this was the worst Chinese I've ever eaten... sorry ??????? The General Tsos... Chicken was over cooked, all dark meat, the sauce was brownish & not red or spicy at all. The rice was clumpy and saturated withoil as if it had been sitting for a long time, not cooked fresh. Mini spring rolls are filled with nothing but cabbage. General Taos chicken wassome sweet syrup with chili powder in it. The special fried rice was over cooked goo. I will never oder here again.
