All four in our party enjoyed their dinners. Our flat-iron steaks were very well prepared. Sadly, they do not serve coffee or... tea to end the meal. The dining is outdoors so it is weather dependent. Read more
True Shame. I was staying at the Long-Point Eco Adventures for my bachelorette in June, (which is right across the road from... Canned Heat Winery). We went out for dinner and drinks on the Saturday night to Canned Heat Winery and the night started offgreat. The patio is beautiful and they do have fantastic food. The service was even good until about the second half of ourmeal. Our party group was about 12 ladies (with reservations - and a mandatory gratitude of 20% - which I don't mind payingwhen the service is good... in this case our server maybe deserved a 5-10% tip). Our server was very friendly and checked up onus frequently before our meals came. Once our meals came the service changed. Our server barely checked on us regarding our foodand drinks and even brought out our bills before we were finished our meal (so I guess we couldn't order more drinks..). All ourbills were incorrect. After our meals were done we waited an additional 30 mins to pay our bills while the staff shut the placedown and started drinking and gathering themselves around tables.. stating they needed to "figure out our bill problems" Mysisters took over as they didn't want me to have to deal with any drama or misfortunes on my bachelorette weekend. I heard thestaff laughing at my sisters and making excuses. My sister offered to walk through the bills for each girl , which they wouldn'tallow.. so my sister paid for the whole bill herself (which was over $800.00) It was truly an unprofessional and embarrassingenvironment near the end. Hopefully the staff enjoyed their "well deserved" drinks at the end of the night while their made funof guests next to them. Truly disappointed. Read more
An absolutely beautiful venue , and great menu . I hate to write a review like this but after several years of working in the... serving industry and knowing what good customer service is I feel Canned Heat did not live up to this expectation. Unfortunatelyour group reservation for 6 people at 7pm did not enjoy the experience. We ordered the sands white wine which we triedpreviously in the winery and it was delicious . We ordered it for the table and it was served room temperature due to theweather and the restaurant being too hot and there fridge being broken the wine was not at all cold. We should have beennotified of this prior to ordering and our waitress told us that there was nothing they could do about it so we sucked it up andasked for ice . Which we couldn?t finish the wine because it just made it super watery due to the heat. I ordered the chicken onthe menu which was $38 . For this price I expected it to be amazing and I love mashed potatoes so I was very excited for thisitem . The mashed potatoes were so Salty and I made everyone at the table try it before complaining about it to our waitress. Iasked the waitress to tell the chef about this situation ( so they didn?t serve overly salted mashed potatoes to the rest of therestaurant ). It was honestly un-edible and it happens that you can mess up by adding too much salt.( I?m talking an extra cupmust have slipped in). The waitress once again said that there was nothing they could do about it . She offered another side butwas nothing they could do about the mix up . I would have loved to have it re made so I could enjoy the house mash but thatwasn?t an option . So I ordered fries which luckily showed up quickly but I still paid full price for everything and the extrafries which were ordered due to the mistake . I am a very polite guest it?s just such a shame that our group has this negativeexperience. I wish the staff was abit more understanding of the situation and tried to problem solve a li Read more
