We should have read the reviews. I hate leaving bad reviews and only do it when I feel I was ripped off. This was by far the... worst Chinese food we?ve ever had. The chicken fried rice was white rice (the photo is after I poured three pouches of soy saucein it)with shredded chicken on top, one dried up pea and a piece of a corn kernel. We had the mixed vegetables, I don?t evenknow what to say, they were not seasoned at all and were floating in a viscous grey liquid. Can?t believe we paid $30 ate a fewbites and threw it out. Lets see where do I start. i have been going there for over 20 years and I still go once in a while. The food has not changed... one bit and I get a kick out of the owner. These places are so hard to find these days with all of the chain stores, and fluffyfake service. If your visiting Port Mcneill its a must do as part of your holiday. Like it or not it's worth the experience...... Read more

My partner wanted to see if all the bad reviews were true. They were. Spring rolls were three stars. Ginger beef and mixed veg,... two. The neon sauce was a bit of a surprise. The chicken chow mien was bland AF and looked like spaghetti with cold chicken ontop. Didn?t have the pleasure of meeting the mean old man. Read more

I could have bought mr noodle from the grocery store and made my own shrimp noodles, and it would have tasted better. Decided to... eat here and was very disappointed. Absolutely horible food! No veggies, no sauce, and just a bunch of steamed noodles withsmall shrimp.I guess its the only place in town for Chinese food????. I will never eat here again. My friend bought anothercombo and threw it away, as he felt sick. Read more

Looked at IGAs Chinese food, did not look good and pretty sure the noodles were frozen, so went here for some take out despite... the reviews. Now normally I like bad Chinese food, but this was bad. I ordered the chicken chow mein, fried ginger beef andsweet and sour pork. The chow mein had the chicken on top but really wasn't flavoured at all. It was ok once drowned in soysauce and the stuff in the cup ?sweet and sour sauce. The ginger beef was covered in sweet red sauce, no idea why. The pork wasmostly deep fried dough and needed to be dipped in the cup o' sauce. Portion size was ok. The guy working there was niceenough. Overall verdict: does not meet expectations. Maybe try a different dish if you must eat here. Read more

As I read the reviews, it seems like most complain about the owner, but I didn't deal with him..... Our waitress seemed friendly... enough. She kept our water full and took our order nicely. The food was kind of meh. A couple of the dishes were great, whileothers seemed like they were made from a prepackaged meal. The noodles were especially bad that were in one dish. Some of theservings were large, while others seemed too small for what we paid. The washrooms have got to be the sketchiest I have everbeen in in my life. They have a huge aquarium with only fake fish in it. I'd recommend just get rid of it. Due to some of thedishes being amazing and the waitress being friendly, I will be generous with a 3. Read more

I'm only giving one star in order to make a review otherwise I wouldn't give that much. My father of 72 and myself 53 were... playing tourist all over Vancouver island and met several really great people and had great fun with all being total strangers. Then we went to the M&Y for dinner before r calling it a night. The waitress that seated us and took our drink order was adelight and a real gem. She had to ask the owner to serve us the drinks as she was under 19. From then on the evening turnedinto the worst experience. The owner delivered our drinks by placing them on the edge of the table. My father said "thank you,how are you tonight ?" As he served me my drink my father again asked. "How are you ?" The waiter (owner) huffed , ignored himand walked away without an asnwer.on the next order he served a drink not as ordered and when told so, only replied "oh well"and walked away. The rest of our service from the owner was insulting, rude, condescending and just plain despicable. No bodyshould support this business to help the owner out of bussiness. A very poor reflection on Port McNeil. Terrible bland food andunacceptable treatment by the owner. Read more
