This hotel is beautiful on the outside and has a fantastic location. Unfortunately, the attention to detail ends there. Once you... get to your room don't expect much. The light switch on the wall did nothing as I entered a pitch black room leaving me tofumble for a working light - the third worked. No water in the room nor any available in the entire hotel (the machine thatsells it wouldn't work either). The tub filled up to almost the top when I took a shower as the drain didn't work. Staff failsto follow up on issues. This hotel should be a 4 star hotel but they are doing everything they can to be a two star. This was mysecond stay here (I gave them a second chance) and the experience was the same. Only difference was the things wrong with myroom. On a bright note - the restaurant Wave is fantastic. The location is beautiful and the room was renovated and nice, but there was none of the going the extra mile for the guests... like I?ve experienced at much cheaper hotels. NO regular coffee for the 4 days I was there! What business wouldn?t just go tothe grocery store and buy a few boxes while waiting for the regular cheaper bill order? Expected me to walk in the rain up tothe main building to have coffee in the lobby at 6am!!? And there was none there anyway! The luggage rack literally fell apartwhen I opened it. The room was never restocked with water. I guess you just get that your first day to make it look like theypay attention to details. The ironing board and iron weren?t put away. I guess the service attendant expected me to do it. Idk.Now I am seeing all these reviews and realize I?m not the only one and I?m not just being picky. Oh and by the way, the last min?destination fee? that wasn?t discussed or charged when my bill was paid in advance? Disappointing. This hotel could be a 5/5for most of its reviews if you would pay attention to detail better and train the staff about it. I stayed at a $70 less pernight hotel the following night after my stay here and everything was 10/10. Read more
A pool would be a great addition. Rooms are beautiful as well as atmosphere. A little disappointed with all of the fees. I... booked for $177. per night, ended up spending about $1000. for four nights. Carpeting on the second floor definitely needs someclean up. Love the Wave restaurant, our server Kristin was great! We just checked in and have always enjoyed our stay here over the years. We have come for quick getaways, had parties here with... our family and friends and enjoyed the restaurant and club. The rooms have always been perfect and the staff wonderful. Untiltoday. We booked a specific room because we are traveling with five people. 2 beds and a pull out. When I arrived I notice oneof the papers said $239 but I didn?t think anything of it because I thought to myself the. A balance would be taken care of oncheck out. We get to the room and it?s the wrong room. Not the room we paid for. I go back to the desk and the attendant says ?well yea we ran out of rooms and my manager just left and gave you a discount.? no phone call at any point to tell me this as wecame from four hours away. So I explain this won?t work. We need the room we paid for. I asked to speak to the manager and shegoes in the back and says ? he said he won?t talk to you he is off now, not much more I can do we are sold out, we can make upthe sofa.? Meanwhile the sofa sleeper was for the two kids so we are still short a bed. Terrible customer service andcommunication..! So disappointed. Read more
I was at Danford's for a Sunday Brunch, not a weekend stay. The place is so very pretty! Service was great. My friends and I... were seated at a lovely spot facing the water and enjoyed the fine food in a lovely setting on a gorgeous day. We were all sorrythat the pandemic kept us from a return visit for so long, relieved that it survived. I hope to be back this summer! Read more
I previously wrote a review on the lack of miscommunication & organizational skills by the banquet manager. I was the DJ for a... wedding here and what I witnessed was everything you DON'T do. When the couple went looking for her she was nowhere to be found.All this venue has working in its favor is the location other than that......NOTHING. Do your research before you book anythinghere. Rooms are in pretty rough shape even after renovation, do not get a street view room if u want to sleep as it is obnoxiously... loud. Front desk staff is nice but can do little to help other than offer a 20 percent discount. Not really worth the price ofthe rooms at all, is similar to a 2 star hotel. Interesting place very nice location. Upper floors need soundproofing possibly some carpeting. Sleeping was impossible. Sounds... like Riverdance from above. Maids were nice but forgot to give us coffee cups for the k machine or washcloths. When we asked thefront desk , she said sure she'll send some up but, she never did. I really wouldn't ever stay there again. Read more
