We just had the most joyful experience with Jennifer at Gideons We came in after a long day of traveling and had no... reservations. We sat at her bar and had such a special fun time. She was personable, humorous, and caring on top of being agreat server full of useful information and recommendations. We had the local red blend wine which was perfect, along with anincredible mussels app with a sweet and spicy sauce so unique and delightful with a blend of flavors. Also longing for some lakefish, we indulged in the local favorite of walleye pike! Again, perfection! Please stop and treat yourself to Jennifer and heramazing staff!! You will not regret it! My husband and I had dinner last night at Gideon Owen. Unfortunately I woke up at 11:00 pm and got very sick. We both had the... truffle burger and it was delicious. My husband had a beer and I had the pineapple jalapeño margarita. It came with a garnishof a slice of pineapple. This pineapple is the ONLY thing that I ate that my husband did not have. It was a classic case of foodpoisoning in my opinion. I called and talked to Matt and explained what happened. He apologized and that was it as far as hisresponse. I suggested to make sure staff knows to wash the outside of pineapples before cutting into them to make sure nobacteria is transferred to the fruit. Beautiful, upscale atmosphere, but not stuffy. Good crowd. Excellent service. The Walleye bites and Bang Bang shrimp were a... couple favorites. If you are a fan of Seafood Bouillabaisse, I do NOT recommend this entree here at Gideon. If you have nevertried Bouillabaisse, I would not try it here for the first time. We had our wedding at Gideon Owen in May 2022 and the whole experience was outstanding. The entire team, including Cierra and... Emily, were a pleasure to work with. I appreciated their support in answering all my questions throughout the wedding planningprocess. They both were always smiling, had a can-do attitude, and made the experience such a breeze. We chose to have ourceremony in the historic wine cellar and had the reception in the ballroom. I really appreciated the refreshed look of the spaceand loved the updated banquet menu that was created for 2022. We're still getting compliments on how gorgeous and unique ourwedding was and we look forward to cherishing our memories of Gideon Owen for a lifetime. Best venue around! ???? Read more

So this past weekend we went here for a birthday and found out it was an awesome place. I'm not a person that drinks wine but... the concept of putting money on a card and taste in wine yourself for 1.5 Oz is pretty amazing service. You can also eat on ameat and cheese board while you wait to get into the restaurant. On the meat and cheese board you get assorted cheeses meatsgrapes and a raspberry compote. We met family from Michigan and Columbus for Sunday brunch. The food was excellent, atmosphere is relaxing and the facility is... so modern and clean. For being so open it wasn't loud. There was a nice fireplace in the middle of the room and a long bar. Nowait for a table and plenty of seating. I'm sure they are busier in the summer. Well worth the drive. A warm, cozy retreat from the cold! What a great place for food, drinks and fun! They have done a wonderful job with this... historic building.
