Had an amazing dinner here last night. Called at 4:30 and was lucky enough to get an 8:30 reservation. We arrived on time and a... beautifully set table was waiting for us. Restaurant was busy, so I highly recommend reservations because you don?t want tomiss this. Started with a nice Chianti and they brought homemade bruschetta and a nice bread basket. Dinner and service blewme away. Delicious home made Tagliatelle with Calamari, Shrimp and Seafood. Just when I thought the food couldn?t be anybetter, I took a bite of the Veal Piccata. That was truly the best veal dish I?ve ever had. It was so tender and the perfectamount of lemon, butter sauce and capers. Came with perfectly cooked spinach and potatoes. The entire experience was amazing. Can?t wait to return. Read more
No other Italian restaurant will ever compare. AUTHENTIC! The service was impeccable, yet comfortable. Wine selection was... awesome. Home made bread and desserts. Holy Cannoli! Our Italian server was very knowledgeable. So many southern regionaloptions. Lobster ravioli, chicken with an amazing sauce Florentine. Our kids were with us and asked for a few things notmentioned on the menu and the waiter made them feel so special by giving them exactly what they wanted. Even slicing and servingtheir chocolate cake for them at the table. We almost passed the place up, it's so tiny, but how lucky we were to findit. Coming from Cleveland very close to Little Italy, I don't think I will ever find anything close to home like this place. We had no reservation but the owner quickly came and set up a table for 5 of us. We could tell his restaurant is his pride andjoy Read more
Agree with the 'unpretentious' label, but only as it applies to the exterior. Truth be told, we almost didn't go in, based on... how the exterior looked. THANK GOD WE DID! as soon as we entered, I wondered if we were actually UNDERDRESSED in our beachwear. They were able to accommodate us on a busy night even without a reservation (I'd encourage everyone to make one tho), and thefood was just DELICIOUS! I actually lived in 'the old country' as a teen, and was immediately transported back a few decades????! They (from the owner's husband to all the staff) truly treated us as if we were family, dining at the family home...INCREDIBLE DINING experience at at amazing place - you MUST visit! ?? Read more
Great service and food. Walked in without a reservation but was able to be seated within minutes. Got a nice bottle of wine that... was recommended by the server. Fresh bruschetta brought to the table along with fresh bread. Ordered soup, salad, veal Marsalaand Bolognese. Finished the night with a cannoli. I?d come back Read more

Went here in November. There were 4 of us. The waiter Bill came over to us and introduced himself and asked us what kind of wine... we would like. We told him we didn't know as we just sat down. He came back and asked us again what kind of wine we liked. Hewas pushy with selling wine. My friend told him that he should tell us the specials first so we can pair the wine with the foodof our choice. The waiter replied that this was his first week on the job and then said he has been a waiter for 40 years. Hewalked away and never came back to our table. Needless to say that the owner took our orders. I am speaking solely on what Iordered and ate. I ordered the Caesar salad with anchovies. The dressing was not homemade and I don't think it was even Caesardressing. Awful! The lettuce was all the soft leaves with hardly any hearts. I ordered the veal chop which was good but notgreat. The temperature was a perfect medium which is what I requested. The waiter kinda put a bad taste in my mouth from thestart and the food didn't wow me. My other guest liked their food but no one was blown away. It's a typical Italian menu with noreal culinary imagination. This was my first and last time at LaPerla. Read more
