Reviews for Big O's IslandVybz in Pompano Beach, FL
We were in search of some Caribbean food while visiting Pompano Beach. When we randomly noticed this Jamaican restaurant, we... had to visit. We were in search of patties; however, they didn\'t have any so we stayed for lunch and had the jerk chicken, peas and rice, cabbage, etc. instead. Everything was delicious and well-seasoned. No complaints.\n\nFamily-owned establishment. The owner was friendly and made us feel welcomed. Read more
Amazing! I?ve been searching for an authentic Jamaican restaurant on the East side of town and this is it! The food was... flavorful and freshly prepared. It?s so refreshing to find a restaurant that serves real rice instead of the parboiled mess youfind at most Jamaican restaurants.\nMy nephew (who is very critical about food) told me this was the ?BEST ? jerk chicken he?shad.\nCustomer service is good and the the facility was clean.\nI highly recommend Big O?s. Work trips always give us the opportunity to find Jamaican food. Most places are a miss but every now and then we find a hit.... Big O?s is a Big Hit! The red pea and beef soup was perfect and so good for the soul after a long day of travel. The oxtail hadamazing flavor. The boiled food made my ancestors cry with delight and they?re not even Jamaican. Seriously though, the food isauthentic, delicious, and tastes like my loving Mother-in-law was in the kitchen cooking. Read more
Good Jamaican food. Large portion and yummy food. Jerk wings I definitely recommend.
Our second time to this place. If you want traditional Jamaican hospitality and authentic food, this is the place to go in... Pompano Beach. We had the Jerk Chicken lunch special with a request for goat curry over the rice. This is as good as it gets forJamaican food. Highly recommended! Read more
While on vacation... I wanted to switch it up from what we usually eat when we are in Pompano Beach. My wife is Jamaican so... ofcourse we love Jamaican food, but it can be a hit or miss. we decided to take a chance and I\'m glad we did. I had the jerkchicken and it was really good. the portion was great. Definitely adding this restaurant to our go to spots when we are inPompano Beach. Read more
Found a little bright jewel in the Pompano desert!\nI spotted this place through the corner of my eye as I drove westbound on... the adjacent Atlantic blvd. Had to go try it out.\nThe entrance is very welcoming, clean.and tidy, and the staff isfriendly.\nTheir menu is quite elaborate for its size. On my first visit, I tried the jerk chicken. For about $15 including tax,I got a huge portion of everything and including chicken. It was fingerlicking good! The steamed cabbage was very tasty and byno means overcooked. I can\'t say enough of how delicious the chicken was. The curry sauce I got for the rice was delicioustoo.\nOn my second visit, the food was not as good. I ordered the same except instead of chicken, I got the jerk salmon andthough the taste was good, the salmon was crispy and dry. There were 2 very small pieces. The total was $22 including tax. Notworth it, I would definitely stick with the chicken. And I surely plan to go back for it. Read more
