Food was delicious however the service was haphazard. Party of 10, waited 30 min just for drink order to be delivered. We put... food order in to have things delivered to the table in piece meal. Our waitress did the best she could but recieved no helpfrom her fellow staff. I had my meal delivered and finished before others in my party recieved their food. What a great restaraunt for the area. Excellent seafood, thoroughly enjoyed the scallop dish with perfectly cooked scallops! The... appetizers were also excellent. Service was excellent when we were there, very attentive and made to check in if we neededanything frequently. The location is spectacular with an excellent view across the water to Valcour Island, can even dosome.people watching as they come and go from the marina below. Likely to need reservations depending in the day as it gotrather busy towards the end of our meal with most tables full. Accesible both by road or by boat which is also fantastic. Read more
Have eaten there before and quality was better. Wait staff was excellent and attentive, but back of house has to get its act... together more. We were supposed to have a a 90 min seating, but did not finish entree within 120 minutes. Coconut Cream Lobsterwas more watery than last week, and the Beef and fungi in red wine gravy could have used a bit less red pepper flakes. Thefilet on the other hand was superb, as were the appetizers...Calamari, Mussels, and raw slices of beef with red onions overgreens. Poor way to make reservations. Were told we had a hour and half seating. Well took over 2 hours without coffee or dessert!... Appetizers were wonderful! Had beef and mushrooms main course. Too spicy to taste beef or mushrooms! Read more
The only reason I did not give a 1 star is because last year in summer of 2021 we went about 10 times and it was awesome for... current times? this time, not so much! Sent Poutine back as it was ice cold. Sent back wine for such a poor pour! The firstbad pour I chalked up to randomness, the second poor pour I was not about to pay for! 4 of the 8 dinners were piping hot, 4were not even warm. The food? o ordered the citrus shrimp with risotto special. So you know, I received 3 small sized (noteven medium sized!) shrimp on a skewer with a giant bowl full of risotto. The shrimp had no flavor or citrus as described.Those tiny three shrimp cost me $26!!!! Service was poor as well but clearly due to inexperience. We travel by boat from VT, soit is an experience we like to enjoy with several friends. Will not go back this season. Go to Essex NY and spend your moneyat the old dock! The only thing the Mariner has going for them is the nice renovations and view of Valcour! Read more
Amazing food, even better view. Skip the busy Plattsburgh Downtown, and come here for better food. Amazing waiting staff, great... food, and great drinks. A must try. Read more
