Waffle house is what it is. Tasty, fast and always packed on the weekends. The sweet older lady that was seating people was... working so hard to keep everyone in line, seated fast and cleaning tables , doing whatever was required of her to get folks fedasap. Even though there we crowds of rowdy teens disrespectful to her she still did amazing! I would recommend this location toanyone. Read more
Menu items changed. Service was adequate but place was definitely dirty. The floor from entrance to counter and restrooms were... sticky like it was mopped with maple syrup. I cannot comment here on the condition of the bathroom without making the readersick. Safe to say I have seen cleaner bathrooms at roadside truck stops and I'll leave it at that. When I was a kid, Waffle House was one of my favorite restaurants, especially on roadtrips. I visited yesterday, the day after Thanksgiving, 2022. It was 5:30 in the morning, I was on a road trip, I a driving,and I needed to eat. I knew McDonald's likely wasn't open, so I was looking for exit signs with a restaurant listed as 24hrs. Ijumped for joy when I saw a Waffle House sign. Waffle House is open 24/7/365 come sunshine or hurricane. Fun Fact: There issomething called the Waffle House Index, which helps organizations like FEMA assess how severe the damage is after a naturaldisaster. If the Waffle House is open, the damage isn't too bad. If Waffle House is closed, the damage was catastrophic. Look itup on Accu Weather. When a restaurant is never closed, it can be hard to keep it clean. The kitchen here looked worse than Ihoped. There were dried waffle drippings piled up on all the drip trays. The stove was black, and the utensils looked greasy.The floor needed to be swept. Generally, the place could use a deep clean. I don't like ordering from a dirty kitchen, but I eatout at fast food drive thrus a lot and normally can't see the kitchen I am eating out of, so I decided to not let the appearanceof the kitchen bother me too much. I decided to get food anyway. I got a regular coffee with creamers and sugar. It wassurprisingly delicious! I saw a sign inside stating Waffle House was voted best coffee in the USA. I believe it! I also got achicken melt hashbrown bowl without cheese with added mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and bacon. The cook wore gloves when handlingthe raw chicken and changed his gloves before continuing.
