I sat down to eat my dinner with my gf and I was immediately asked to pay for wine or leave. I purchased a glass of wine but... when other (white people) sat down, she never approached them to purchase a glass of wine as well, I will never come here ever .Unless you?re white enjoy they?re cheep wine. Whenever I visit I typically receive nothing short of excellent customer service. Today, was the exact opposite. I visited with... some friends who happened to want to indulge in some eats prior to us enjoying the delightful variety of spirited beveragesoffered at Vintopia. Unfortunately we were approached by the Vintopia employee asking if we had planned to drink (under theassumption that we weren?t bc this is reserved seating just for Vintopia) At this time, two of our colleagues had already loadedtheir cards with funds and started consuming from Vintopia. We notified her that we DID intend to drink with Vintopia and we?reenjoying some light eats prior to. She then understood. However another family of a lighter skin tone happened to sit right nextto us. Neither of them intended on partaking in Vintopia?s wine offering but she did NOT approach them, considering that theseating is ?strictly reserved for Vintopia guests and participants?. The approach towards us felt very racially motivated, aspeople of color we were the ONLY people she addressed in the small space. Again I typically enjoy coming here at the very leastweekly (because I live relatively close by) but this is beyond unacceptable and embarrassing, firstly for us receiving the illtreatment as well as a reflection of this organization?s ?unconscious biases?.
