There is a reason a place stays in business for many years. Caribbean food is a niche market in DFW, but they have survived with... good food at decent prices. Beef patties, roti, curries - all good. Daily specials. The doubles filling is decent with tamarindsauce, but lacks peppa and the bara is closer to fry bake. Still a nice flava, but not the real deal. But ah not complaining yuhknow. Nice grocery selection also. For anyone looking for Carib or Carib Shandy in the metroplex, you can find them here, but beready to pay a premium. (Worth it in my opinion). Finally got Caribbean food moving from ny so it was a great find. Took me 40 mins but the customer service was great. They... explained to be everything I needed to know. There was small misunderstanding with the menu since it wasn?t mentioned on themenu. But long story short I got home with my food excited to try it. The roti was a bit tough to break maybe cause it was hotwhen they wrap it up or idk.. but the curries wasn?t that bad it was okay.. the pollarie and potatoe ball was my favorite alsothe Jamaican patty. Food was warm ordered a to go plate. The oxtail was delicious. The cabbage and rice were good as well. The pricing is reasonable... as well. I would recommend if you are looking for some good oxtail. Also stopped by the restroom, that could use a good airfreshener! Overall good place. Read more
Ordered the jerk chicken with rice peas and cabbage. Also ordered fried plantains. The food was soooooo good. Absolutely loved... it. I am on a diet and I can't stop thinking about this place. Jerk chicken wasn't traditional grilled but different. But verygood. Portion was a lot as well!! Read more
I was so eager to taste this food. It?s straight trash. The so call Jerk Chicken was horrible, cabbage was not authentic and the... rice and peas was none existent. I wasted $40 on fake beef patties and trash food. The chicken even smelled like fish, what themess is that. Read more
Not close to tasting like jerk chicken (it was boiled then maybe baked/ NOT how jerk chicken is made at all), rice and peas was... mushy and the cabbage was not cooked through. I returned my food, would not recommend this place. Nothing close to tasting likeauthentic West Indian food. Read more
This place is an institution. If you want a meal that will exceed any preconceived notions about how incredible food can... ACTUALLY be, come here Jerk is phenomenal. Rice and peas are delicious. I could eat their cabbage 3 square meals a day andwould never tire of it. The patties are really good. Flaky and flavorful. There's a reason there arent any other jamacianspots around here. First time eating at this place I had the Oxtails potatoes rice and peas and cabbage! It was soooooo good! the best I?ve ever... had! Meat just falling right off the bones nice and juicy and EVERYTHING was seasoned very well. Even tho there was a line whenI got there my Food was hot and ready, and I didn?t have to wait! ??
