The pictures are seafood, Caesar salads and cucumber salad. You also get a choice of a roll or muffin with your meal.

One of my favorite places ever! The menu here is pretty simple, mostly salads and a few sandwiches, soup, quiche etc, but... everything is outstanding! They have a variety of salads to choose from, Caesar, cucumber, fruit, pasta, chicken, seafood, etc. My favorite is the trio, so three different salads. They also have a Duo, individual salads, or a sampler where you can try allseven. Every salad comes with choice of a muffin or a roll and both are amazing! The chicken salad is my favorite, but it's notwhat you would expect, it's mostly chicken with a few sliced bell peppers, apples, and pecans in a nice light vinaigrette, pairswell with everything that they have The portions are huge! Be hungry or be ready to share, or be ready to have some leftovers, not a bad thing. This is my go-to spot for catering! I always pick it up and again, the portions are huge. I always get thesalad sampler, that way there's something for everyone. The muffins are awesome, so are the rolls, I always get some extras incase somebody wants more than one. It's an amazing value and a great spread instead of a box lunch, pizza, etc. This is one ofthree locations, all are amazing! That being said, they are all pretty well hidden, probably cuts down on the rent. Hunt onedown and you will not be disappointed Read more

We LOVE cafe max at my office. We get super excited whenever someone goes on a lunch run here. Their seafood salad is literally... the best I've ever had. Today I tried their quiche for the first time and it was fabulous ????. Their other cold salads aregreat too. I really like their Caesar. I read reviews today about the chicken salad being too chewy. It looked good so I orderedit for the first time. It tasted amazing but everyone is right in those comments, the chicken isn't tender at all. Still, untilthat seafood salad loses quality they have my money ????. It's still take out only. Kinda weird to still have their restaurantclosed ???? in August of 2022. Staff shortage maybe ????. Anyway! Grab a lunch from this place. For sure try that incredibleseafood salad. Read more

Cafe Max has been one of our favorite restaurants, and our absolute favorite salad spot, for years. We started with the... Richardson location and eventually moved our business to the Plano location. One of the remarkable characteristics of Cafe Maxhas been the consistency of their salads. The chicken salad and Caesar salad have been wonderfully, consistently made for years!Until today. Both salads from Plano were different today. And not in a good way! They simply failed to meet their usual highstandards. I wanted to send management an email (and avoid this online review) but they will not accept emails. Only snail mail.Who does that?! Hopefully someone in management will see this review and correct this problem. Otherwise, loyal customers likeus will give them one more chance and move on if the next experience is similar to today. Absolutely love this place & the staff! Everything is going up in prices so I truly don?t mind spending the extra buck. Portions... are huge, can last me for lunch for 2 days! I?ve already picked away at some but portions are very fair and fresh! Read more

I have been eating at Café Max since it first opened in Richardson. I left the area in 2003 and have just returned. I was so... happy to see that Cafe Max is still in business. I went to the Windhaven location recently and got my three favorites attakeout. The pasta salad was not the same. It had too much dressing in the pasta was overcooked. The southwest chicken salad wasnot the same. The chicken was cut in a little slivers rather than the big strips it used to have it too had too much dressingand the flavor was not the same. The seafood salad was delicious but once again it had too much dressing. I was verydisappointed. Read more

The food has not been tender and it's been like this for a while. My daughter won't eat the tough chicken anymore, for at least... the last year or more. We have been going to Cafe Max locations since circa 1997 and this has only happened a couple times overthe years, but now it's the norm. The chicken has been tough, same with the seafood. My wife mentioned same for hers and forpast experiences and agrees. We both still agree that their Caesar salad and dressing with croutons is still the best ever. That recipe is awesome. Also, the prices have gone way up over the years, and they no longer offer dine-in since COVID and theyreduced their hours to close mid-afternoon. Prices are several dollars higher and is now at the point where we aren't goinganymore. $15.80+ tax for a two-meat trio is no longer in my budget for 3 scoops of salad, and definitely not worth it when it'snot tender. Just love this place, one of the few places that makes me want to eat salads all the time. Been coming to Cafe Max on and off... since they were at the Addison/Midway location, and the quality & quantity have been pretty consistent for me. Saladbreakdown: Cucumber salad - cucumber, tomato, cilantro, tangy dressing Vegetable salad - zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, cauliflower, vinaigrette Potato salad - yellow potatoes, vinaigrette Pasta salad - tricolor rotini, creamy oregano-forwarddressing Seafood salad - imitation crab, creamy tangy dressing Chicken salad - chicken, red/green peppers, apples, pecans, cilantro, sweet tangy dressing Caesar salad - romaine, croutons, parm-forward caesar dressing Fruit salad - cantaloupe, grapes, pineapple, honeydew Prices have gone up, but it's to be expected during these times. I'm not mad about it & still thinkthe food is definitely worth the cost. The only difference that I can detect that one reviewer pointed out is that the seafoodsalad does have a different texture than previously. The flavor is still great, but the imitation crab is a bit more spongy thanI remembered. It doesn't bother me, but if you mind that kind of texture, then this salad might be a pass. Other than that, every salad is still delicious, & portions are still huge. I attached a picture the salad sampler that I got and the plate thatI made from that. Pretty sure I can make 2 more plates from what I have leftover. However, the sleeper of this meal is thezucchini muffin(not pictured) that comes with your salad....it's so goooood! The muffin is moist, not too sweet and doesn't justhave zucchini, but carrots, walnuts, & raisins. Great way to end your meal! Will need to come back more often. Read more
