Our family has been to 1487 twice now and has had such a great experience! We brought our dogs both times (who love the patio).... It is very dog and kid friendly and has a good drink and food selection. We ordered appetizers and dinner (both great!). Lovedthe cheese curds! The staff is very friendly (and loves the dogs). This place is off the beaten path but totally worth the journey. My husband and I came in during a weekday afternoon and took a... seat at the bar. Our bartender was super friendly and attentive. She was very knowledgeable and suggestive of the beers. Shesuggested I try one of their IPAs even though I?m not a big IPA drinker but it was actually very good! We ordered some bonelesswings with two separate sauces. They were very crispy and delicious. We also shared a Pretzel that was very good as well. Myonly complaint is that we don?t live closer! Edit: I had returned (Jan. 22/2022) to this brewery because I had enjoyed it so much the first time. Unfortunately my experience... with the Toast app was disturbing. We had arrived just as they had opened at 11am, and we were the only ones there until anotherparty arrived later. I had to order using the app, it went fairly well, but after I ordered I notice it had added 2 burgersinstead of 1. When the food came, she reassured me that the order was corrected. When we finished eating, the app would not letme do anything like close out or leave a tip. We needed to go, and I didn't see any help, so I left with intent to check itlater. I was never able to get back in or even check the total history. On my credit card, I noticed later it appeared that theyhad charged for the extra burger. Due to some personal family health problems, I was never able to try and correct the matter.If they are going to us a app, it should be very well planned out and it is not. I really enjoyed this brewery but I am not surethat I will return due to this app. I enjoyed the "on site" brewed Altbier and Helles beers. They also have a rotating guestbrews. The food menu was limited but good. Tasty and good size cheeseburger. They also serve wine and Whiteclaw selzer waters.There is a great patio setup outside. Read more
Great Food, Great Beer, and Great Atmosphere !!! And, the Biergarten is a wonderful place to enjoy a good Pilsner, while... enjoying the weather and watching the sunset at the end of a long day. My favorite beers are the Kolsch, and the Helles Lager.The Blood Orange IPA is amazing too, and the Porter and Oatmeal Stouts are outstanding!!! And, they have new tappings with newvarieties of beer, weekly. Also, they have a good selection of Guest Brews from other local breweries. And they have arespectable hard liquor selection as well. Their Traditional Wings are huge and cooked perfectly. And their house made bluecheese dressing is wonderful. And their prices are within reach of the working man. Thank you !!! Read more
3.5 stars. Good food. I had the eggs Benedict. Loved the German bologna and spicy jam. Only downside was it was cold. My husband... enjoyed the Ruben. Beers were light and crisp. Easy drinking but a bit watery. Read more
First time visiting the 1487 Brewery and we had a marvelous meal! We got the flights to start off and got to sample four... different brews. They have a wide variety of beers on tap and can satisfy the thirst of every type of beer drinker. Theschnitzel with a side of asparagus were both delicious , but the warm German potato salad was my favorite of that trio! Thebratwurst was probably the best one I have ever had! The brat was tender and perfectly cooked, the pretzel bun was soft andchewy and the sauerkraut had a sweetness which added a nice variation and paired nicely with the house made mustard! (I alsolike the fact they use a meat supplier out of Mt Vernon.) The pile of tots was huge, and I could not finish them all! A greatmeal with generous portions! Visited on a quiet Thursday afternoon with perfect weather and enjoyed the outside area. The food was well prepared and generous... portions on many dishes, albeit a bit spendy. Good beer that is neither groundbreaking nor disappointing, but rather suits theambiance nicely. Happy pretzel. Read more
Fabulous experience! We'll be back for sure. Lots of fun, Bavarian themed decor. We tried the buffalo cauliflower and the... bologna sandwich, and both were excellent. The Oktoberfest beer and the citra IPA were also both very tasty. Staff was friendlyand helpful, and I really enjoyed the QR code online ordering. We ordered a second round of beers and they were out super fast.Much faster than waiting to see a server, ordering, then waiting for them to have time to bring it. Read more
