We have been the this restaurant many times at this point and every single time it delivers. Home style sauce and homemade pasta... cooked to perfection. Have eaten many different entrees and they are all amazing. I still can?t believe we just happened torandomly stumble upon this place during restaurant week and it is now a weekly staple for us. Rigatoni was very good ..pasta cooked perfectly and the irregularity of size drives home a handmade pasta. Portion size was... gigantic almost to a fault... Talking 3-4 meals per pasta entre ( and I'm not exactly a small eater ).. once again not anegative, next time I'll be sharing and getting some apps .. Garbarino's is a gem hidden in the center of East Liberty! First things first, make a reservation they have limited hours and... seating. Second, plan ahead to find parking on the street. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. Garbarino's is relaxed andchic, serving refined rustic Italian with recipes that have been passed down through 4 generations. The dining experience had animmersive Italian feel with The Godfather: Part 2 playing silently on the tv above the bar and the music of Dean Martin andJohnny Mathis playing while we dined. The portions are huge! Believe me you will be bringing enough home for a second meal. TheItalian Sangria was perfect. For appetizers we had the delicious greenz and beans and the meatballs in sauce tasted ???? exactlylike my Mom's!! We tried the Rigatoni Siciliano -which was spicy and saucy and the Rigatoni Ragu -which was rich and meaty. Bothdishes were perfectly prepared. Really impressed with Garbarino?s. Unassuming from the outside, it seemed too good to be true when I walked into the tastefully... decorated restaurant with red checkered napkins, gold frames with old family photos hanging on the walls, and The Godfatherplaying on the bar?s TV. I wondered if the food would be as good as the environment, and it was. We took advantage of theirrestaurant week specials and shared the meatballs and greens & beans as appetizers, spaghetti bolognese and rigatoni & ragu forour entrees, and tiramisu and cannoli for dessert. Food was excellent. Greens and beans was in a NY style with sausage and some tomatoes. Rigatoni Siciliana was so flavorful with... layers of sausage, banana peppers and then to smoked mozz. Chicken Parm is classic with the right flavor of tomatoes and Parmand mozz. Love the tiramisu, the marscapone holds the chocolate and lots of coffee flavor. The cannoli is wonderful, withchocolate chips at one end and chopped pistachios at the other and the filling is smooth and creamy with just right amount ofsweetness. Read more
First time in Pittsburgh visiting family wanted authentic Italian and this place didn?t disappoint. Low key great food excellent... service. Bree was awesome gave us personal attention and wrote down recommended places to experience post dinner. Will comeback! Read more
