Small town DINER at it's best. This is classic country cooking (i.e. fried okra, etc). Reasonable price and generous portions... - I have never been disappointed in my meal. But the real gem is the service STAFF. Those gals work together like a well oiledmachine, never have I needed anything that it wasn''t at the table before I even asked. I love to watch them interact withtheir client's - they know their customers by name and always engage in a meaningful conversation with them- you just don't seethat any more. The best service every time. Love the friendly staff. My shrimp po' boy was not my favorite thing I've ever ordered there but... the sides are always perfect and they have the best chewy ice and plenty of refills. I also use the drive-thru for breakfastitems when I can. It can be pretty slow but the wait is usually well worth it. My favorite is the fried pork tenderloin biscuitand the bacon egg and cheese and the bacon is always crispy. Read more
I have road by Al Diner countless times and said hey it's breakfast time, Let's give this place a try. I ordered a veggie... omelet. The omelet was very good. So a week later I said hey let's try this place again. I went in for a bit of my veggieomelet, a long black arm hair was revealed. All I can say is country cooking at its best. We had the beef tips and onions, It was so good the only thing wrong with them is... I didn't have a second batch. Very good country mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken salad is very good especially on theircroissant. Their foot long hot dog is the red country hot dog reminds me of my childhood but very good. I'm going to try to getpictures of the food, But after smelling this great food on the way home it doesn't survive that long for picture. Read more

Headed to Raleigh for the day and decided to try something other than a chain restaurant for breakfast. Service was slow and... wasn't sure if we were supposed to order up front. Other customers said to stay put. Finally got our order taken, so glad wedecided to stay. We had the best omelette we have ever eaten. We will be back for the food, not necessarily the service though. Read more
