It was our first time trying Peruvian food, the waitress was so patient explaining the different dishes to us. I loved the... chicha drink! The portions are very generous, we took our leftovers and ate a whole other meal later at home. Read more

We ate at 2 Peruvian restaurants while in Phoenix. El Chullo was the more authentic of the two. It may be the best Peruvian food... we have had outside our own kitchen. Tamales were wrapped in banana leaves in true Peruvian fashion. The Huancaina sauce wasspot-on. Good service. Good food. If you go, check out the Peruvian market next door where they sell authentic Peruvianingredients. I will be back! Read more

It is way overpriced for what they are offering.. I would be embarrassed to serve the bread they are serving and charge 25... dollars for a bowl of soup that has less than 10 small size shrimps .. I tried the soup and the heart as an appetizer.. Iwasn?t impressed.. it was bad and I won?t come back to pay such prices at a place like that .. Read more

Small peruvian restaurant. Service was excellent. I like that they had vegetarian options. The veggie causa could use more aji... sauce and the Quinoa seemed more of a rissotto than a "aji de gallina". The Crema Volteada was very dense but delicious. I wouldgo back again if I am in town. Read more

I?ve never had Peruvian food before dining at El Chullo. The experience was amazing. The food here is amazing! Potatoes,... seasoned rice, seafood, beef, and a wide array of appetizers are on the menu. Bring your appetite because the portions are askind as the staff. Read more

All about that Lomo Saltado with a side of the crema de rocoto sauce (have to request this). Unbelievable. With the special... flavor on the roasted tomato and onions, an unavoidable mouthgasm. On my second visit, I ordered the ceviche. The "stomach test"for me, tells me pretty much right away, the freshness and quality of raw foods. This ceviche (I ordered Mixto) passes withflying colors. Food was decent. They served a good portion but not a lot of chicken in the Pollo Saltado. The price is up there ($16-18/plate).... If it was cheaper, I would go back but they are a bit expensive for what they serve and the ambiance. I've paid more in Miamiand I'm OK paying $30/plate (La Mar) if the ambiance and food justify it...but not this place. I wouldn't recommend unless youare extremely craving Peruvian food Read more
