Should change its name, this is a shadow of what Sweet Sues used to be. I had been going to sweet sues regularly for as far... back as I remember. It never disappointed. Pancakes as big as your plate but still absolutely delicious, I?ve never had any thatcame close. French toast far and beyond anything I?d ever had before, big and fluffy and one encrusted with pecans or hazelnuts.I was devastated when Sweet Sues closed. And was so excited to learn it had reopened. But I?m sorry to say, this isn?t SweetSues. The menu lost all its interesting pancake choices that they used to have paintings of on the walls. Lost its gluten freepancake option. The legendary French toast doesn?t even appear on the menu. The pancakes aren?t Sweet Sues quality. They?resmaller and just missing that extra something that set them above all others. Don?t get me wrong, it?s still a good pancake, butit?s not a legendary Sweet Sues pancake. Service was slow when I was there, it took just under an hour to get our food.Honestly that was a problem with the original Sweet Sues though, and I know it?s hard to get enough staff. Overall, if youhadn?t ever been to the old Sweet Sues, you?ll probably enjoy going here. They have good pancakes. Their eggs and potatoes lookgood. Their sandwiches are very small for the price, I would avoid them. But what bothers me is that the location is coastingoff of a pancake reputation that it bought, rather than earned. I hope this is just the start for the new Sweet Sues and itwill become more perfected over time. Read more

Okay y?all. Don?t drive through Phoenicia without a stop at Sweet Sue?s. My husband and I randomly stopped to just grab coffees.... Instead we decided to embrace some spontaneous vacation vibes-grabbed a seat outside and took our time. Was a limited menu, butwe were very content with what was available - especially the herbed potatoes and egg plate. Good coffee. Good food. Beautifulsetting. Worth a visit! Read more

Our first time to Sweet Sue?s and it did not disappoint. This latest culinary edition to Phoenicia is fantastic! A new/old... establishment beloved by many in the past; the current owner has done everything right. We went for the classic, and I hear, famous pancakes which were perfectly fluffy without being dry, clearly freshly made and so big I couldn?t finish. Sides of baconand chicken sausage added to the yum, and a wicked, muddled ginger + lemon mocktail completed the meal. We will definitely beback! Read more

Cute and quaint with outdoor seating as well. The specialty teas are amazing! I am not sure if this is accurate but there is a... floor manager or maybe owner or owners son that is all over the place. Tried to chat my wife and I up explaining the manychanges made over the years. Honestly that had zero to do with my lunch or my review. Just wanted to make a note that maybe heshouldn't be customer facing. The curly hair n sandals w Brooklyn bro vibe was unkempt and unprofessional. My meal was thebrisket sandwich. Tasted great and smelled so good cooking..was a great pairing with the garlic curly fries. All well untillater that night. I spent the rest of my day with burping and heinous noxious smells escaping my mouth. I wish that was theleast of my issues. My only meal was this that day. I spent my afternoon and night miserable. My advice....eat with caution. Read more

I came in for breakfast on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. I ordered a cappuccino that was too strong for me but I added milk... to it and it got better. I ordered The Hog Johnson which was HUGE. The bacon was not crispy and I ordered side crispy baconwhich they made to perfection. My boyfriend ordered the brisket skillet and it wasn?t his favorite because it was a kinda dry. Itried it too and it was not that great. We didn?t try the famous Pancakes but next time we will. Overall, our waitress wasattentive but our food took like half an hour to come out and it was not packed at the time. It was a cute spot nonetheless. Read more

This is NOT what Sweet Sue's used to be. I loved going to Phoenicia just for Sweet Sues pancakes and was devastated when I heard... of their closing. But then I heard they had re-opened under new ownership and got excited. But the pancakes are no where near asgood or as big as they used to be. I used to get 2 pancakes that were bigger than the plate and could only eat half and took therest home. They were by far the best pancakes ever. But the new pancakes taste no where near the same as the old, and are muchsmaller. This should not be called Sweet Sue's anymore at all. It is no where near the same as what the original was. Also Ifind it quite deceiving that Google has the reviews from the original Sweet Sue's in with the new. That is giving this new SweetSue's a much higher rating than it deserves in my opinion. Impromptu early lunch with a friend set on trying the ?new? local, reopen ,new owner and new menu ..Sweet Sues. I was very... hungry if not hangry after a tough morning. My friend was still full from breakfast but game for an adventure. The layout wasquite different, from previous owners , as seating was more outside than in. There was A specific area with registers and happystaff to take your order. ( they do have table service) I chose to wait for my friend for our choice of in or out. Meanwhile Iordered an omelet with mushrooms and cheese. I asked for sourdough bread specifically because it can be tolerable with a GFdiet. I was told they had sourdough. I ordered a cappuccino. The cappuccino was delivered at the counter in an 8 ounce glasssans handle. It was very hot. I grabbed some napkins to wrap around the tasty and well made cappuccino. I had to side step overto the sugar and various milk offerings. (To be noted there were no tea offerings , like black tea, available ) they offer Greentea with mint iced and various coffees & Mexican sodas Finally leaving the lopsided table outside we opted for the very nicelarge tables with metal stools. I found the chilled free water dispenser, silverware and napkins. Getting settled my omeletarrived .. I was immediately disappointed. It was way over done and in puddles of grease. The bread may or may not have beensourdough but it was a Lower quality bread, heavy and not convincing as a sourdough. I couldn?t eat the omelet or the toast. Idrank the coffee which was well made and tasty.. (I need a handle on a hot drink unfortunate spills happened) My friendthoroughly enjoyed her salad including spinach ,beet root ,Vidalia onions grilled, goat cheese and walnuts. Her salad was hugeand lovely. The dressing was also to her liking maple syrup being an ingredient. As they are new and just getting started Ipaid for my bill and I didn?t want any replacements. They were very gracious and tried to meet where I wa Read more

Pleasant surprise addition to Phoenicia. Don?t know why I missed it but luckily found this cute cafe on the main retail strip in... town. The coffee is locally roasted and worth the Java jolt. The veggie omelette and summer peach cobb salad was amazing. Andpastries are a must. This will be my go to stop every time I am in the area. Read more
