Reviews for The Dutch in Philadelphia, PA

I chose the Dutch over the other nearby restaurants on a quiet Saturday evening partly because of the impression of warm simple... elegance I got from looking in the door. I was greeted in a friendly way by the bartender and chose to eat at the bar. I chosefrom the prix fixe menu: roasted mushroom soup with sourdough, Cuban pork with black beans in bbq jus, cabbage ale and herbedsour cream. The soup was excellent - warm and darkly savory and not too salty. The toasted sourdough was perfect for dipping inthe soup. The generous pork and beans plate was slightly pleasantly spicy and the au jus complemented the beans in a way I canreally describe but was delicious. Even the cabbage slaw was a cool counterpoint to the warmth of the pork and beans. Finally Iwent with the brown butter apple tart with vanilla ice cream and almond crumble. Flavorful and sweet but with flavorforemost. The atmosphere is relaxed elegance. The service was excellent. I will be returning. Read more

Get there early. It is WORTH IT. We came for breakfast on a Sunday. I got the cheesesteak hash, I never eat eggs over easy but... this was really good. Portion size was perfect. My spouse got the sweet Dutch baby, delicious. I always drive by this place andso glad we came for Father?s Day. I also had a passionfruit Bellini, perfect. I also enjoy how they take a certain amount oforders, so they don?t overwhelm the kitchen and the product is exceptional. A gem on Passyunk. Read more

The food was amazing, including both Dutch babies and the huevos rancheros. The waffles with fruit was okay, but kind of boring.... And the drinks were all good, especially the tropical Spritz one. I was told the bloody Mary was good and I had a mimosa thatwas a little heavy on the champagne when it comes to taste. Most people don't care about taste with mimosas so that's up to you.Parking wasn't too hard, and we got a table almost immediately which is pretty rare, but possibly because it was four of us andthey usually hold those tables for parties of four Read more

We took an Uber to get to this little quaint spot which was about 15-20 minutes and about 30-45 min on foot from our hotel. I... looked this place up, and it gave off some European vibes. I thought since it was called the Dutch, that they served itemssimilar to the food in the Netherlands, and they are not far from a previous spot we dined at a few months back. They offerindoor and outdoor seating, and again we chose indoor. The server greeted us immediately and let us pick our own section. Weordered two coffees. After looking at the specials which are posted on the wall on butcher's paper, and the menu, we bothdecided on the two different types of the Dutch Baby, which is like a pancake with various fillings/toppings. Mine cane withfruit, and for an additional cost, extra fruit plus a side of bacon. Hubby had his with meat and egg inside. Coffee wasokay. The ambiance was quaint, and there is artwork displayed on the walls that are available for sale. There is one singlerestroom. Overall, the food packed flavor and reasonably priced. Read more
