This English style restaurant is a beautiful place to dine for both the food and the atmosphere. I am very impressed with the... creative and well balanced menu. Most items feature at least one or two interesting or delicate ingredients that allow the dishto shine. The cocktails and carefully curated mocktails are as lovely as the velveted interior. I also appreciated the informedand professional service from both the bartenders and the waitstaff. Even without mods, there are a lot of gluten free options(the fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer). Try the Forest Mushroom Salad; it's the perfect combination of fresh brightflavors, balanced textures, and savory umami. Stopped in for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is very nice. The cocktails are amazing and they fresh squeeze the fruit for the... drinks. The food is good and very accommodating to dietary restrictions. The mushroom omelette is delicious and the trufflesauce on top is amazing. Only reason I gave it a 4 star is the prices are a little high on some items but other than that it’sa great place. Read more

Beautiful and delicious cocktails, and wonderfully cooked, flavorful food. Had the Duck Meatballs with cherry and onion sauce... and the Gnocchi with artichokes and vegetable jus. Great service. ???? Black Squirrel in East Falls. So I had a birthday lunch with hubby at the Black Squirrel, contemporary British Pub Fare... that feels more elevated than most other places in this category. ???? I got the Onion Soup with a piece of toast with rarebiton top (a dijon mustard and cheese combo)... this was just outstanding.. the sherry in the soup really took it to the nextlevel. Hubby got the cheese board which seems a bit small portion-wise ( aren't cheese boards pretty big usually) We got thefish and chips and the tandoori wings... wings must have been made from jumbo birds since they were HUGE.... and quitedelicious. ???? We agreed that the expertly crafted cocktails were the highlight though. They were just stellar! They didrequire proof of vaccination, which they had been doing since June, although the staff was unmasked. They did have outsideseating and I did see heaters. The food was great but the portion sizes were too small for the prices they were charging. The tandoori wings cost $15 and they... give you 3 whole wings. 3. The fish and chips cost $23 and you get one piece of fish. However, the service was fantastic andthe draft list was great. Cocktails are also well made. Read more

A wonderful addition to East Falls! The Black Squirrel is an English-style pub and very much feels like it from the decor to the... menu. My friend and I split the Tandoori Chicken Wings as an app (which were great!), I had the cottage pie as an entree and itwas wonderful, my friend got the fish and chips and they looked just as good. We didn’t order any drinks but I saw a largeamount of cocktails on the drink menu. They offer bar seating, regular dine-in, as well as outdoor seating. Our server Kaitlynwas great! Finally found a free night when this new addition to East Falls was open to take a test drive. Happy to report the experience... was very good. My companion and I sat at the bar and it was the bartender who actually made the visit memorable as he waspersonable, knowledgeable and just a joy to chat with when he wasn’t knocking out delicious beverages on a very busy earlyevening. The food was delicious. I had the fish and chips (not pictured) and my companion had white asparagus with a fried eggadded on top. I deducted one star as the portions were very small for the price. My selection was $22 and included one piece ofbattered fish and a small cup of fries. It was good but for the cost, 2 pieces of fish feels more appropriate. So don’t gothere super-hungry.
