Everyone has a favorite Aunt or their Nonni whose cooking never fails to put a smile on their face or bring up comfy dinner... table memories. That's what it was like eating here for the first time! It was a birthday dinner for my fiance. My fiance'sfamily origins are Italian, so their hopes weren't very high! Because, nothing compares to Nonni's food! But, they werepleasantly surprised to be taken back to grandma's table once they got a few forkfuls from Scannichio's plates! The plating waspitch perfect and the specials were just that, "special"! The Broccoli Rabe and Sausage was a shared appetizer and wasdangerously delicious! We fought over the scraps! The meatballs were juicy, savory and tender balls of heaven! I was hanging out with former Eagles TE Brent Celek, the Philly Phanatic, and Dr. Bruce Grossinger. It was our normal Thursday... outing. We decided to come to Scannicchio?s in south Philly for the pistachio cake and as it turned out, we got dinner anddessert. Great service. Excellent chicken parmigiana. Highly recommend. Read more

Wonderful. First time there. BYOB. Went with a dear friend @ his recommendation. Hes a regular and we see why. Charming dining... room. As close to eating in Italy as you can get. We had healthy portions of stuffed Veal chop, chicken Picatta and Marsalaalong with clams casino and stuffed figs for apps. Read more
The food was good. The service was good all of the entrees were good, but the mashed potatoes left something to be desired,... maybe the kitchen had a bad day with the potatoes but over all excellent. The scungili fra diablo was good but super spicy, I?llhave them tone it down next time. The rack of veal was also perfectly cooked medium rare. The lobster ravioli was good. Theprices are fair and the ambiance very good. I was initially greeted by Mark and his sister in law who works the bar. I willdefinitely go back. I?ll make sure my mashed potatoes are on point though an easy fix. I look forward to my third visit here. Read more
