Lovely service and tasty authentic food! The veggie burrito is perfect and the salsa verde is heavenly! My go to in south Philly... for bubble tea. What more could you want? Read more

What a great place! Breakfast menu ends at 1pm, but that's ok, they have quite an impressive menu, and they give you such... colossal amounts of food! Look how big this chorizo burrito is! Churros are awesome! Coffee, soda, tacos, this place offers somuch. Friendly people, fast service, good food, recommended. Do yourself a favor, cancel your lunch plans and come to La Cocinaon the corner of Broad and Dickinson instead. Read more

I called in and asked ?what?s the most popular thing on the menu?? And the guy said ?I don?t know we have burritos? etc.? so I... simplified my question ?when people call in, what?s the most frequent item that they request? I got the same nonchalant answerwith attitude this time. Let me give a bit of a backstory. I actually used to work at a Taco stand before and people would askme all the time what is the most popular item, which I would kindly say the Fat Man Burrito I don?t understand why this a***olehad to give me attitude on the phone when I was trying to support a small business. There?s a chipotle at Broad and Washington, think I?ll stick to that option instead of dealing with a***oles. It?s not a hard question, I really can?t understand why hecouldn?t answer it. Long day at work? So you take it out on your customers? Best believe I WONT recommend this place to anyoneand I?ll be sure to let them know the attitude they?ll receive upon asking for ?the most popular item?. It really wasn?t a hardquestion, and the dude should honestly be fired. Lol. Read more

Okay so I'm not going to lie, I was a little impatient about waiting for this sandwich. I just popped in this cute, unassuming... corner joint to get my husband something quick for lunch. Or so I thought. It felt like I was sitting there, the only customer,on a wobbly stool, waiting for this takeout for an eternity. I've had a fair number of tortas in my time, and it seems like theyalways take like 5 or less mins to slap together before I'm on my way. This torta took a full TWENTY minutes to make. However, after walking home (somewhat grumpy) and trying a bite of this thing I immediately determined that I am not at all mad aboutwaiting for this. It was fully 100% well worth it, and I will be back ? I'll just call ahead next time. 5 stars. Compliments tothe chef! Read more

2020 has been a rough year for everyone, but one thing keeping me sane during this time is La Cocina del Café. The food is... amazing and the people that run it are even more amazing! Pictured is an Al Pastor Torta (without the mayo). Highly recommend. Read more

This is kinda silly but I ordered 1 and 1/2 portion of nachos. Yeah it?s pretty silly... who the heck ordered 1/2 portion of... nachos?? Me!! A friend came by and she want to get nachos. I don?t want to feel left off and at the same time I don?t want toblow up my calories on nachos so I ordered 1 for my friend and 1/2 for me. I was a little skeptical when I call them over thephone but surprised they do it!!! Read more
