This is a cozy little restaurant on Chestnut Street in University City. The hostess was exceptionally kind and accommodating to... us. The food deserves 4.5 stars. The atmosphere and service gets 5 stars from me. We had Doro Wot, Veggie Combo for entrees. Wealso got a small smoothie and an Ethiopian beer for drinks. First off, the drinks were great. I highly recommend the Ethiopianbeer (It’s named ‘Habesha’). It’s not too overpowering, has a pleasant taste and goes exceptionally well with the food. The food itself was great. Both dishes came with ample helpings of injerra (Ethiopian bread). I found some pieces of chicken inthe Doro Wot to be a little hard to bite, but it was fine. The other servings of vegetables on the platter went great with theDoro Wot. Read more

First time tried Ethiopian food for our six month anniversary. It was pretty good and kinda close to Indian food but less... spicy. We ordered three meat options: Doro wot, Kaffa Tibs, Yebeg Tibs. It's perfect amount for three people. My fav was Kaffaand second fav being Yebeg. Doro wot was alright. The vegetables and lentils that came with it didn't seem to have enough salt. But other than that they were good. Will be trying their vegetarian options the next time we come. Read more

Excellent experience! Located in a less than desirable part of town but the food did not let us down at all! Everything was high... quality and tasty. While some food may seem bland at times, you can simply salt to taste. Many spicy options are available.Great smoothies also! Menu is online, just scan QR code. Read more

Solid, unassuming Ethiopian restaurant and bar in a neighborhood with many of them, each one better than the last. Make sure not... to fill up on injera or you will have no room for the wots and tibs! Read more

Excellent meal, highly recommend it if you like African or are curious about giving it a try. The Kitfo (minced beef with some... heat, ordered rare), Doro Wat (chicken in a thick, heavily spiced, curry-ish sauce), and vegetarian sampler were more thanenough to pleasantly fill up a party of three with leftovers. The sampler alone or together with one meat dish would be fine fora couple with moderate appetites. Great taste and texture to the injera bread. All of the dishes had unique flavor profiles, but the vegetables seemed to be the real crowd-pleasers and the size of the sampler was an excellent value. Small criticism —the service was friendly, but not exactly speedy or attentive. Not a big deal when the food is this good, but it would be greatif the server(s) left a pitcher of water on the table.
