Reviews for Careda's Caribbean Cuisine in Philadelphia, PA
Oxtail platter. I took a picture of this menu when last at Philly Reading Terminal so I could try it. I went yesterday with my... cousin. The cabbage was good. Steamed but just enough crunch. The rice and peas were good but sweeter than I expected. Theoxtails didn't look great, cut up and too many pieces had so little meat and it was the most expensive on the menu. The meatwas not really seasoned well either. Platters come with two types of rice and one side. Mac and cheese and yams were offered asa side but not with platters (extra) which was disappointing. Now the peach cobbler was not great either. It tasted like thedough was not cooked well and it didn't have many peaches. I would try it again but be extremely selective now that I know. Read more
If I could give 10 stars I would. The food here is incredible and the service is impeccable. I tried quite a few things and... everything was perfect. The jerk chicken, rice/peas and cabbage were my absolute favorite. Can?t wait to return!! Read more

It needs to be an option for ZERO stars! My husband just brought me this food home. This is by far the nastiest and... un-authentic Caribbean food I have ever tasted. They claim to be from the Caribbean, coming from a family of Caribbean decentmyself, there was not ONE seasoning, or flavors used to make authentic Jamaican food. The "brown stewed chicken" wasundercooked and hard as a rock. The "rice and peas" horrible! And the string beans no flavor what so ever. My husband is upsetneedless to say because he spent his hard earned money and the food was so nasty we had to threw it in the trash! Read more

Whew, we were looking for delicious Caribbean food in Philadelphia and it found us! The jerk chicken was to die for?it really... scratched my itch. Located at Reading Terminal Market, don't let its humble exterior fool you. These ladies were warm andfriendly, and the cabbage was done perfectly. The icing on the cake is the portion size. I mean...c'mon! I just finished myleftovers...the jerk chicken still fell off the bone 2 days later. Highly. Recommend. Careda's Caribbean Cuisine! ???????? Read more
Jerk shrimp was pathetic. Wasn?t nothing jerk about it. There?s a bunch of better places in the reading term that are actually... worth your money so just go there. Don?t be disappointed like I was. Read more
