Excellent authentic flavorful South Indian cuisine. Much better than any other chain restaurant I have tried. Goat soup, ghee... dosa and kesari are a must Read more

I'm a big big fan of Amma's in center city so you could only imagine my excitement when they announced one a few blocks from me.... Decided to get takeout today and was sorely disappointed. As appetizers, the gobi Manchurian and Chilli chicken were absolutelyflavorless, not even salted properly. The butter chicken masala had weirdly cut pieces of chicken, extremely diluted and superoily gravy. The parottas were the only saving grace of this entire meal as they were delicious as usual. To top it all, thismeal cost me more than $60. Totally not worth it I'm gonna chalk this upto teething troubles with opening up a new restaurantand go back in a few weeks to see if it has gotten better. If not I'll just be going back to the center city location as I didbefore Read more

I was going in with high expectations into ammas as the center city location was a 5 out 5 for me. When they announced that they... were opening a location in university city, I got very excited. But when I went there, it was a totally different story. Therestaurant is crammed with not much space. One has to shout to communicate to the person sitting in front of them. The foodtasted good, but the filling inside the masala dosa was the smallest I have ever seen. Compared to their location in centercity, their filling was basically non existent. If you love South Indian food, I would suggest going to the center citylocation. Read more

Food was decent, not my favorite Indian I've had. The interior is cramped with tables next to each other. Since the ceilings are... low, the room is small, and there's no sound-absorbing materials like rugs or curtains, it feels like a bar inside and you mayneed to shout at each other. not a fan of shouting at dinner. Prices were a little high. Ordering process is through your phoneand there's no main server for your table to take care of things. Probably would not go again Read more

Nice restaurant, has brick wall interior and very pleasant lighting . Food was well prepared all of them turned out to be good... (dip idly, sambar vada, masala dosa, pungulu, biryani). Ordering made easy with an app, no need to wait for a waiter and alsocan order at your own pace. All attentive staff looking across the floor. Place is also kept clean. Overall a Friday nightexperience was good and we were lucky to find a quick table without a reservation. Read more
