Wonderful place and the owner is super nice. Good selection of freshly ground spices and snacks. Injera wrap was very affordable... and delicious. Was able to buy very tasty injera separately for home cooking for $2 per giant injera. The owner even providedeveryone inside the cafe with free Ethiopian coffee that looks like espresso but taste a little like black tea with a hint ofespresso - pleasant to sip as is. Can't wait to come back and try out their new restaurant nearby. Read more

Love, love, love the food. While I usually wish for larger portions, the amount provided fills me up every time; I?m just... greedy. I love the spicy lentils and beef, specifically, but will eat anything from the steam table. Any. Thing. Read more

I love Alif!! The food is consistently amazing. The amount of vegetarian options makes this place one of my favorite spots in... Philly. I dream about the sambusas-which they make fresh all day since they sell so many! There?s always a friendly face helpingyou; the women that work there are beyond lovely. 10 stars !! Read more

Clean and cute spot. Staff kind and sweet (I felt well taken care of). Free guest wifi (neatly and clearly displayed). I got a... veggie lentil injera wrap (made fresh to go) and 2 Sambusas (one chicken and one lentil; pro tip they run out so order earlyrather than late). I only have pictures of the wrap because I accidentally consumed the sambusas in .002 seconds. My only regretis I didn't order 4/$5. Don't sleep on their Mini Mart selection. Lots of great items and honey, they have honey! Winnie thePooh would be more than satisfied. Read more

This place is an absolute gem. I come her all of the time and often bring friends to try it. Everything that I?ve had here is... incredible. The injera wraps are such a good deal and the vegetable sides on the platters are unbelievably delicious. The staffis always friendly and quick. The food is prepared fresh every day, so it?s ready made when you buy it and I consistently pickup their end of the day leftovers with the Too Good To Go food app. The coffee is great and the iced coffee is best enjoyed intheir AC on a hot summer day. If I come to work, there?s plentiful indoor and outdoor seating. As if they can do no wrong, there?s also a well curated mini market inside where I?ve bought an emergency phone charger, divine fresh prepared hummus, chocolate bars, amongst other things. I can?t recommend this place enough! Read more

Open since September 2021 Alif Brew & Mini Mart is a great addition to the west Philly coffee scene. Go for the Alif Special... coffee (w/ ginger and cardamom) and load up on pastries. I also grabbed hummus, babaganoush, and lentil salad for lunch. Greatcall. Great Ethiopian coffee shop with a nice little store attached. Read more
